While the UMass men’s basketball team is experiencing a step back from a 20-win season last winter to a team that looks destined to finish toward the bottom of the Atlantic 10 this season, the UMass women’s basketball team is in the exact opposite position as the calendar flips to 2025.

I'll post this in the women's forum as well, but the Gazette didn't have a preview of the Richmond game in today's online edition. Instead, they had a piece commending the women for their solid start to the season and improvement over last year. https://www.gazettenet.com/UMass-women- ... r-58738613

so Rivera is eligible to come back regardless if this JUCO rule goes through or no matter what he can come back? I have always like Daniel - I could tell from day one the kid was an athlete - not a great shooter/scorer but tough as hell and would be great for us next year.umasscollective wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:52 pmRivera is a junior eligibility wise. He will continue to get better and has shown great strides recently.Juice Stand wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:52 amNot picking on you Bobolink, but how long can we continue to say that UMass is younger and less experienced than their opponents? It feels like every year we have a "young" team.

We add a bunch of sophomores but really only 1 freshman, Nate. We're old enough, we're experienced enough. Richmond is having a bad season so far: sub .500 record, 272 NET, 239 KenPom. This is a home game against a not very good team. Make some shots, grab some rebounds, and win a game.

Umass -4.5. This is turning into a must win conference game. Richmond is one of the other two A-10 teams with a losing record. Need to get this one.

Even after that first 5 minutes of play?
Umass looks the best they have all season, let’s keep it up.

10 point first half lead at home against the only A10 team worse than us. Hang the banner.Camby4Life wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 12:11 pmEven after that first 5 minutes of play?

DHS and Rivera need to cut down on the tough shots.

We are so lucky Richmond isn't shooting well from 3

Foul to give there to stop transition instead give up a wide open three. Great coaching.

I now believe Frank Martin has simply forgotten how to coach.

Hi UMass Basketball
When you have the ball before halftime with 1 possession left, please hold for last shot
Thank you
