I’m not sold on degray for the simple fact he thought he already turned us down once which makes me question his desire to really play for usNilesGold wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:23 am ^ I couldn't tell you for sure, recruiting can be strange. I believe he had a few P5 offers last year before electing to come back to Woodstock. Maybe he was holding out for a specific offer that never materialized.

^Did he turn us down or did he decide to stay another year to better his game? We were not the only ones to offer him last year.

Re: 2020 Recruiting
Getting a big is still first on my list. Hima would be my first choice. If we can't get him or another equally good freshman, then I would go after Richards. If we end up with Richards, who most likely wouldn't be eligible, get a grad transfer to fill in the Richards sit out year. Maybe Otchere or Gasperini. Both should be serviceable as a backup to Tre and could get another 5-8 minutes playing alongside Tre if we needed a bigger lineup.
Re: 2020 Recruiting
Gasperini committed.

He took an OV and was being recruited pretty hard it seemed but decided to take another prep year for what seemed at the time a chance at higher major opportunitiesBattle Ax wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:45 am ^Did he turn us down or did he decide to stay another year to better his game? Gasperini fills a big need and is a known commodity. I would think he’ll help Tre by battling in practice.
Now we just need a season to play.......

Sounds really solid. Welcome aboard, Mark!
It would be ideal if we could sign Richards to wrap up this class. Keeping it moving in the right direction..

Seems like a really solid pick-up. Big experienced body that has put up some decent numbers over his career. I say go get Richards to sit out and gain some experience.

I also think it's a plus that he went to high school in MA. Maybe he will be more invested than your usual grad transfer.

Did he negotiate #23 from TJ or did he just want to show his skills by putting Massachusetts on his American uniform?
