^ I couldn't tell you for sure, recruiting can be strange. I believe he had a few P5 offers last year before electing to come back to Woodstock. Maybe he was holding out for a specific offer that never materialized.

I’m not sold on degray for the simple fact he thought he already turned us down once which makes me question his desire to really play for us

Getting a big is still first on my list. Hima would be my first choice. If we can't get him or another equally good freshman, then I would go after Richards. If we end up with Richards, who most likely wouldn't be eligible, get a grad transfer to fill in the Richards sit out year. Maybe Otchere or Gasperini. Both should be serviceable as a backup to Tre and could get another 5-8 minutes playing alongside Tre if we needed a bigger lineup.

He took an OV and was being recruited pretty hard it seemed but decided to take another prep year for what seemed at the time a chance at higher major opportunities

Gasperini fills a big need and is a known commodity. I would think he’ll help Tre by battling in practice.

I also think it's a plus that he went to high school in MA. Maybe he will be more invested than your usual grad transfer.
