Re: Game 12, 2025-26: Kent State (12/20)

Thank you Carl Spackler for your well thought out assessment… I’ve been around as long as you, and have seen all the ups and downs, up close and personal. I don’t view this as an opinion piece, as it is 100% factual in nature and I share the same sentiments. Frank’s run in the A10 was very ...

Re: Game 12, 2025-26: Kent State (12/20)

I agree that the defense got us back into the game, and Frank deserves credit for that, although once the ball got inside, we continued to struggle there. My gripe on offense is that many of the open shots taken (and missed) were by guys that Kent State was willing to give up while maintaining a ...

Re: Game 12, 2025-26: Kent State (12/20)

Very disappointing performance today, by both the players and the coach. I have to agree with High Peaks… why pay upwards of $2 mil/ yr for a coach in the MAC if you’re not getting a significant return on the investment? Kent State coach Rob Senderoff was just given a substantial raise in ...

Re: KAEO: John Calipari

Just wanted to chime in briefly from Bangkok Thailand…. that ‘91/ 92 team with the players mentioned above was probably my favorite team in any sport at any level in my 68 yrs on this planet. The job that Cal did with that group was unbelievable, and wouldn’t have been possible without the Refuse to ...

Re: Game 16, 2024-25: Dayton (1/8)

Great game to see in person…. my wife and I were on the edge of our seats on every play as it became more and more apparent that UMass was able to compete with these guys. I really like the physicality of the group without Curry and Malek on the floor….Worthy was outstanding at the point and Rivera ...

Re: Game 16, 2024-25: Dayton (1/8)

Mitchell matched Toppin step for step, if not outplayed him all together as a freshman. I remember standing next to Toppin after the game as they got ready to interview him; Mitchell’s best game that year was probably against URI…. he was unbelievable in that game and got ripped off by a bad call at ...

Re: Game 16, 2024-25: Dayton (1/8)

Yes, we’ll be there as well…. Our last game before our Winter Hiatus to Thailand! Maybe they’ll put together their best performance of the season on $1 Hot Dog Night, but Dayton is pretty hungry too ( and pretty good)! Anyway, we’ll continue to follow from the Land of Smiles…. 8)

Re: Don Brown

Rumor has it some reps from Dancing With the Stars will be on hand Saturday to closely monitor the UMass Head Coach’s reaction after the game, if indeed they are fortunate enough to eke out a win against another hand picked FCS tomato can for Band Day. Evidently the producers viewed some footage of ...

Re: 2024 Game 7: Mizzou

Beautiful day for a game today! Let’s try to have some fun! Think of little McGuirk and all its warts and shortcomings as the beloved Cage of yesteryear…. it’s about the product on the field ( and court); when Cal started to turn the tide in hoop, we didn’t give two shits about The Cage, we embraced ...

Re: 2024 Game 7: Mizzou

The weather is looking great! Looking forward to a big crowd and lively pregame festivities, and who knows, we were tied with Notre Dame at the half years ago in Indiana (we were there) …. of course they pulled away in the 2nd half, but still a great experience.

This UMass team does have some ...

Re: 2024 Game 4: CCSU

Wonderful time on campus pregame, as usual. I watched every minute of the game, as well as the locker room celebration and postgame presser by D Brown….evidently he thinks he just knocked off Missouri and his star QB is the front runner for the Heisman. I guess RB forgot to point out that they ...

Re: 2024 Game 4: CCSU

I can’t really get excited for the game itself…. bringing in a local FCS team for Homecoming; we know how it goes… a sacrificial punching bag so everyone can have a good time visiting with friends and family, and not really worry about the outcome of the game. Everybody does it…. weren’t we Penn ...

Re: Ryan Bamford Fired?

I agree that time has run out as far as the current situation is concerned…. upper leadership needs to step in now to establish a new and improved course of action; the rest of the university is passing them by with a higher standard in most other areas; major front porch sports are an important ...

Re: Ryan Bamford Fired?

Alot of thoughts, feelings, and opinions have been expressed here for years, not merely about the struggles of the Football program, but the other major front porch sport not played on ice. Let’s just look at the facts…. the football program has struggled for 12 years, including embarrassing ...
