My brother is an 87 grad and his daughter applied to the nursing program this year and was not accepted. The competition is fierce. Every year it gets tougher. It definately is no longer the "safety" application in case you do not get in where you really wanted like it used to be.

Great article. My brother and I parlayed our degrees into successful careers after we graduated in the 80s. No regrets going to UMass at all. And based on today's admission statistics I would probably not even get accepted based on my high scholl grades and SATs.

Never been prouder to be a UMass Alum! DG is a great representative for our University. I wish him the best in his remaining time as a student athlete and for all his future endeavors.

Have not seen but a couple of games this year down here in Maryland. Nice to watch a great win! Williams really got going in the second half. Great steal and game awareness to call a time out at the end.

I concur! I was at the 1977 game against Villanova. Great atmosphere!

I hope to come in for this game from Western Maryland. A Saturday game makes it much more doable. Made it down to DC for a game back in the Calipari era. Unfortunately it was an "L" for us.
