It went down to the wire, but St. Louis held on to beat Duqesne, 78-77. This was kind of a mix of tempos, in between St. Louis's slow-down, and Duq's run-and-gun.
SLU/UMass tomorrow at 6.30pm.

Scared to death of this team.....talent wise, they are on the level of us and Xavier. Those two teams are the only ones who I believe can beat us even if we play well.
I remain confident, but our road to the dance is paved with the 3 best teams we could possibly face.....SLU, GW, Xavier.....

That is very good prepration for the NCAA tournament, though.

I think if we beat SLU and GW and lose to Xavier in the finals, given the 25-8 record and beating two good A10 teams they will have a hard time overlooking us for an at-large.

True....there is that to consider.....actually, with Fordham and Dayton winning, do they have a chance to be a Top 100 team? We could finish with a bunch of Top 100 wins...

If we're to challenge for an at-large, beating St. Louis and advancing is the best way to get the committee's attention. On the flipside, facing them rather than Duquesne drastically improves the chances of us making an early exit.
I'm with Chris; I wish we didn't have to see these guys again.

I'm so tired of listening to "If we lose to Xavier in the final then we can get an at large."
First of all, Xavier is not in the final and has a hell of a lot of work to do to get there. We are not in the final and if we get there, being one game away from winning the whole thing and definitely getting into the NCAA, nothing would piss me off worse than to lose the god damn game to Xavier!
And still heavyweight champ..Umass basketball!

I think we are 80 minutes away from getting an at large bid. Add on the flu piece and it makes a great story for the committee.

One game at a time. SLU will be tough game and our guys will have to play smarter than they did last time. Protect the ball better, crisper passing, and better outside shooting.
I'll worry about the semifinal when this game is in the W for us.

Good luck men!!!! Beat the FLU and SLU.
Leaving in an hour to make the trek to AC. If you can get there, stop making excuses and go and help the boys bring home the A-10 Tournament Trophy and automatic bid.
Please think before you type.

Do we know for sure that the game will be online at CN8.tv? I'm leaning towards no, since the UMass website is pointing you towards CSTV to pay $9.99 to see the game. Does anyone know? I have Comcast, but we recently converted from Adelphia and still do not have CN8. I have to miss the first half since I don't get out of work on time, so paying $10 for one half of basketball would suck.
If anyone has any info, please post. Thanks!
Go UMass!
