Good. I like the change and glad UMass had something to do with it. All last season Frank was about just getting to Cleveland and winning 3 games in 3 days. Glad he won't be able to have that mindset this year.

The news of this release is that we caused this change with our win over Miami last year:

"Under the revised format, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in both tournaments will receive byes into the semifinal round, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will receive byes into the quarterfinal round."

(I think the change is mentioned in the 26-27 season thread, but I like that in some way we interrupted their life.)

3 and 4 also get a break to a degree. 5-8 have to win 4 games now to get the tournament championship. I get that the “break” is the same as last year for 3 and 4. But, they aren’t playing four games.

^ and ^^, yes I like the new format for the 1-4 seeds. 5-8 have a much more difficult path. I was going to say that it's a bit of a bummer not to have a full slate of games because of the byes, but then I remembered that the women's tournament is played in the same arena, so you get 2 women's games and 2 men's.
