Overall, UMASS has played very good D on Northeastern. Now 3-0!!!

Northeastern D has let UM forwards plant themselves in front of the net on 2 of the 3 goals.

Wow.

Don’t want to jinx it, but what a tremendous effort so far tonight.

Who is the Canadian color guy? I feel like I'm listening to Slap Shot.

I agree, but no idea who he is.

Thomas is a bit biased for UM.

Too bad that this is just before the hordes return to campus, although being on NESN helps reach a lot.

It is very encouraging that the Top 5 UM season scorers are freshmen. Shows the upgrade in coaching and recruiting.

I would not want to be a Northeastern defenseman on bus home, although UM effort has made them look bad.

I like how we stayed on the attack right to the end.

Color man is former UMass great and Austrian Thomas Pock. As for the game, best performance by far in the brief Carvel era. What a tremendous performance. Northeastern is one of the top scoring teams in the country. In addition, UMass did not fall into the trap when Northeastern, as usual, started gooning it up. Always been a dirty, cheap shot team.

For those that never saw Pock play, think Makar or Ferraro. He played D in the early 2000's and had the hardest shot from the point of any UMass player I have ever seen.

While the 2 major Mens winter teams are basically at .500+, isn't is amazing the renewed confidence in these programs?

Bamford deserves a great deal of credit, in my view, for his ability to attract and hire quality coaches, across his tenure here.

He is also a NEW AGE A.D., always communicating with the fans directly via Twitter.

Simply amazing how an engaged, enthused, and competent A.D. can turn things around.

I’m obviously extremely happy with the growth and direction of the program. However, I want to see a good effort tomorrow. 4 times so far UMass has won the first game of a home and home series, They’re 1-3 in the second game with the win being at home vs Qpac in a game they were outshot 50-19. The three loses came against hockey east teams (Merrimack, PC, and UConn), have all been on the road, and have seen UMass be outscored by a total of 20-7.

Having suffered through the entirety of the Michelleto era, I understand that this is a vast improvement and it is unfair to expect a sweep of a top 10 team in a home and home. However, I’d like them to keep it close Saturday night. Doing so would, in my opinion, be another sign of improvement.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Leave the A-10!
