I like the fact that he's assisted three different head coaches, that gives him a little more perspective and breadth of experience.

...and two of those coaches have made the NCAA championship finals with non-BCS conference programs. Those are two very good mentors to have.

The morning after DK was introduced, there was a display ad from the Springfield CYO in the sports section of the Springfield paper congratualting DK and welcoming him back home.

That may seem like a small thing, but I think it's a sign of the support DK's hiring is likely to get from fans in the greater Springfield area.

In several posts since Ford left, I've asked the question, "Where's our Jim Larranaga?".

Ironically enough, one of the jobs DK had on the road back to UMass was as an assistant to Larranaga at George Mason.

Time will tell how good of a hire this is, but I like everything that I've seen so far. 8)

Also ironically, Larranaga said thanks but no thanks to his alma mater.
