Michel Lasme

Post by NedLarkin4Life » Wed Aug 31, 2005 9:45 am

It's been a long time since I have had a chance to look at my old Umass basketball team. I remember when great players like Ned Larkin and Trigger Burke were playing. I was going through some stats from a couple of years ago and saw this Michel Lasme player. He had a pretty good year then transfered to Colorado, but i can't get any other Information on him. Does anyone know where i can find out what he is doing now (Europe or NBDL... etc)?

There's a new thing called Google. You can enter names or phrases and search the entire internet for things. It's amazing, you should try it.

Here's what a search on Michael Lasme returns.....

Ivory Coast product Mike Lasme, the sensation of the 1999 African Championships in Angola, decided in July 2004 to leave Colorado, where he had sat out the 2003-04 season after transferring from Massachusetts as the Atlantic 10 Newcomer of the Year . . . Citing the financial needs of his family back in Abidjan, Mike signed a professional contract with Figueira Ginasio of Portugal’s first division . . .

You mean Yahoo then. Yahoo bought altaVista and the Fast Search company a few years ago. There has been much consolidation in the search marketplace over the past 5 years which includes mutliple Yahoo purchases (Overture...which bought Fast & AV), IAC buying Ask Jeeves which had bought Excite and iWon, etc.

As a professional Search Engine Specialist, it's made my job that much easier. No longer do I have to worry about too many search engines when Google has 40% of the marketplace, Yahoo has 35%, MSN now has 16% and the Ask properties make up about 5% with the last 4% split amoungst smaller engines.

No wonder is was so hard to search for Lasme, because Alta Vista doesn't even exist. Wow I need to read the manual, or as a good friend once told me RTFM!!!

Do you guys think that This kid Life has a chance to be as good as Joe DiSarcina and maybe challenge his single season assist record of 167!?!

I have a feeling that Life is more of a "shoot first pass second" player. He has never seen a shot he did not like.

Possibly, but then he chose to become part of Coach Ford's system. He will either play within it or sit on the bench, if I assess Ford properly.

DiSarcina played 26 games max. With today's expanded schedule, it is very possible for someone to break the record. But having watched DiSarcina play, I'd kind of like to see the record stand.
