This was some surprising news, particularly interesting to me as a fellow member of the unofficial UMass Broadcasters Alumni Club. The circumstances, as described in the Awful Announcing article, are frankly ridiculous. I feel badly for Josh, but I'm confident that he will find plenty to do to occupy his winter months, in addition to his baseball gig in Milwaukee.

Josh Maurer let go by Boston College
Re: Josh Maurer let go by Boston College
I saw the same article, you beat me to this.
(For context, if y'all don't remember, Josh Maurer was our play-by-play radio guy from 2008-14.)
BC redefining stupid shit. If I were Josh I’d call an employment attorney. I can’t believe BC administration let Murray do that.
Assistants on the staff often lose their jobs when the head coach does, but the radio guys?! Why not fire the Conte concession workers too? Bonkers.

^ It doesn't sound like they've found a cheaper option since the search to replace them has just started. Collins also mentions that he did PxP, color, and engineering when Maurer was busy with the Brewers without asking for more money for the double and triple duty he was pulling.
Coaches usually don't have any say in who the broadcasters are, especially not first time head coaches. Collins and Maurer went through a lot just to try to meet the guy, and he kept pushing them off. That's a real POS move. I'm not surprised he's a disciple of Dan Hurley.

Seems like a very UMassy situation at BC.
Josh is a great person and will land on his feet.

Re: Josh Maurer let go by Boston College
Someone on the hellscape dug up a post where one of the radio guys (not Josh) was questioning, before the hire was announced, if Luke was the right choice.

Seems Luke was keeping receipts. Extreme pettiness if true. Nothing what Collins said was wrong or unfair. Getting your first HC job at the ACC level is certainly a fair topic of debate.

Boston College says men’s basketball coach Luke Murray had no role in firing of radio announcers

For me, this strays into TLDR territory.
