FIFA takes stuff that was (arguably) working, jacks up the prices while arguing they make things better, but a lot of times just makes things worse.

I don't know how some people who aren't already in the 1% crowd are justifying paying the ticket prices. $500 minimum gets you in the door for one seat.

I might try to make it to Atlanta if I can find a cheap enough ticket and the matchup is good.

I went in 94...but not this time.

I'm pretty close to Boston though, and it's been awesome to see the Tartan Army around. I hope they both advance to the knockouts and come back to Boston.

Also I loved how open Haaland was after the last game about the one coming up with France. Who cares about potentially losing to a team that is likely to win it all, he's enjoying the moment and glad to be advancing to the knockout round after just 2 games.

I didn't enjoy the red card on Balogun and he'll be missed vs. Belgium, but I love how active Pepi was at the end of the match. I think he may give Belgium some issues at the 9, assuming he's starting there.

Great game for the US last night, really compelling stuff. This group has already exceeded my expectations. Balogun will definitely be missed; he's a chaos agent and the spear of the attack.

Welp...that was just about as bad a performance as they possibly could have had. They looked nothing like the team that played the previous WC games. They weren't connected, passes weren't crisp, they were running into each other and giving the ball away too easily, and each of Belgium's goals were just too easy. I wasn't expecting the USMNT to win last night, but I thought they would at least compete and look like they belonged on the same field. They did not, unfortunately.

What a shame to end that way after such an inspiring run. But they ended up where they normally do, the round of 16. I had low expectations for this group, so they went further than I thought and looked much better (in previous matches) than I expected, so I have to say I enjoyed it overall, but last night was such a lead balloon. Womp womp.

Yeah, definitely a off-night to say the least. Not having a proper center back definitely contributed to our woes. Belgium's 9 just physically dominated.

Feels like Pulisic was playing hurt (he is pretty dam fragile) after the Paraguay match. The good news is a lot of other guys are really stepping up and we don't look nearly as inferior as we did even 4 years ago.

I do like what Pochettino did with this group. I don't think he'll be here in 2030, but I would certainly welcome it.

Don't have a good feeling for who wins the whole thing, I guess France because they really don't have any weaknesses.

Only added to Belgium's fuel and made the situation worse for the US. Trump being in involved in last nights game was equivalent to the Knicks losing the only game he attended in the finals.

To be frank, Round of 16 is how far I expected this team to go, this is essentially equal to the first round of sudden death in the old WC format after the expansion.

US doesn't have a true leader on their team, hopefully this will create a larger presence for US soccer and folks will show more interest and now start to support their local soccer teams.

As bad as Belgium dominated us to that point, it took an all time bone head play by our keeper to put the nail in the coffin. I’d be pissed if the goalkeeper on my daughter’s 8th grade club team made that play never mind the top goalie for a USMNT! So frustrating to lose like that after what was a pretty magical run.
