Has this been mentioned on the board? Not breaking news, but.... Just wonderful! Now we have to endure 11 home games against teams we don't give a crap about.
Bring back the Yankee Conference! And get off my lawn.

Re: New: 22 game MAC schedule
That sucks. How are you supposed to raise the profile of your conference in the metrics? I guess the SunBelt challenge is somewhat decent, we have a couple ACC teams on the schedule, and potentially the Arizona St game that's owed to us (I'm guessing ASU will bail though).
I think I heard that the full schedule is moving to 32 games, so with 22 MAC games and the 8 games Mike has listed on this site, we're only at 30. They better get two more D-1 games. I am not going to be happy when my season ticket fee includes games against UMass Boston and some other BS lower division school. The Northeast is chock full of division 1 basketball teams. Give me Harvard, Holy Cross, BU, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, UNH, CCSU, Merrimack, Siena, Albany...anything is better than D3.

Re: 22 game MAC schedule
Is it official that MAC announced going to 22? I've seen rumors of it, but I didn't see the final word. Post a link if you see one.

^ I haven't seen anything official from the MAC, but Miller is a pretty reliable source.

Basketball is moving to a 22-game schedule in the MAC as well. Joining the Big West and Southland Conference. Reminder that the schedule is increasing to 32 total games for all of D1.

I reached out to Rocco and he confirmed. That's good enough for me to take it to the bank.

Are you including Arizona State? I'm considering that a maybe. I asked UM, they acknowledged my request, but haven't answered for certain.Juice Stand wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 2:08 pm the 8 games Mike has listed on this site, we're only at 30.

Yes, but I was skeptical that it would happen, saying "potentially the Arizona St game...I'm guessing ASU will bail though". If we lose ASU that leaves us with 7 OOC games, needing 3 more. It's just terrible. We used to have 13 opportunities to bolster our NET, now that's down to 10, and probably less because we schedule D3 teams.MikeUMA wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 2:14 pmAre you including Arizona State? A little off topic, but I wonder if there was ever a chance of getting into the Sunbelt, or if the MAC was really the only FBS option for us. Basketball-wise, they're pretty similar, I don't know how they stack up football-wise, but at least you get some solid historic rivalries in the Sunbelt with Georgia Southern and Appalachian St and of course, the Ragin' Cajuns! Travel is slightly more difficult getting out to Texas and Louisiana, but schools like James Madison, Old Dominion, Marshall, and App St are way more appealing to me than our current MAC foes. Oh well, what's done is done so it's irrelevant. We'll just have to trust in our dear leader, Ryan Bamford to lead us on the path to prosperity.
