This is a really good point. In theory, Thorr should be bringing in more than his salary to be worth it. I’ll let them figure out how to say he did (donations, ticket sales, reducing expenses, whatever else). Granted that UMass gives isn’t 100% of the fundraising for the year, but $51k doesn’t even cover what he’s made so far according to public records-never mind for the remainder of the year.PreecherJenkins wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 8:57 amthese numbers would get ryan and (potentially) Thorr sacked. That is absoultely pathtic.vanmeter wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 9:50 am Hockey, by far, the most in donations $128,894.
Women's basketball was 2nd in athletics with $68,790.
Football with $51,151
Men's Basketball a paltry $20,835.

As it should be. It's amazing either program saw a nickel given how disgracefully they've been run for the entirety of the Bamford era.tdmass wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 9:37 pm Well, UMass Gives is only an hour or so from closing and UMass Athletics for Football and Basketball donations came in dead last with 51 and 25 gifts respectfully.

Rollie will be on scholarship starting July 1.
Re: 2026-27 Season
Rollie has been rewarded with a scholarship.

Congrats to Rollie for the effort and perseverance of three long seasons of walk-on and redshirt status. I don't know him personally but he always seems to have a good attitude in what I've seen.
That said, the enthusiasm in that room leaves a lot to be desired. Not from Rollie, but from his teammates, coaching staff, the others in the room.
Hey, I wasn't there. I only see what's in that video. But at face value, come on guys, get excited for your boy. This one looks like a sleepwalk in comparison to when Davonte Higginbottom was made a walk-on.

Really makes me wonder who's going to be the vocal leader of this team in '26-27. Jayden looks like that guy sometimes, but he's gotta elevate it this season.

^Congrats to Rollie! Well deserved
With that said, are we out of scholarships now?

I would think so. Unless his son isn't taking one and instead using the free tuition perk UMass employees get for their children.
I'm just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy In a world full of pushin' and shove...

Just need to get the NCAA to abolish the shot clock and I think our offense will be fine.

First, congrats to Rollie. That's huge for him, and he's earned it.
And yeah, holy cow that was a muted celebration. Luka couldn't even be bothered to clap for him.MikeUMA wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 2:11 pm That said, the enthusiasm in that room leaves a lot to be desired. Not from Rollie, but from his teammates, coaching staff, the others in the room.
Re: 2026-27 Season
But we have the highest paid coach in the league so we will be better just because of that...
