Nestrasil and Musa were awesome tonight. Keenan scored on Nestrasil’s 1st assist; Musa scored on Nestrasil’s 2nd assist and then Nestrasil score on Musa’s assist. Cam O’Neill got the empty netter to end the scoring.

Big Mike was awesome yet again with 30 saves! I’m guessing tonight was his final home game in a UMass uniform.

My guess is 6,000 attended. Excellent considering students are on spring break!

Augustana lost today and we won. We dropped from 14 to 15, Augustana stayed at 13 and UConn jumped us to 14 by beating BU. I do not understand this system. One thing I do understand is that it looks like we have to beat UConn to get to the top 14. There is one wrinkle, however. Right now, Merrimack is up 2-1 over Providence in the 3rd period. If Merrimack wins, we play them and beating them will not help our NPI.

Maybe I'm all wrong on this. Someone please help!!

Just got home in time to see the last 10 minutes of Period 3; Merrimack 2 -1 over Providence and the announcer mentioned that if Merrimack gets the win they would play UM , since UM would be the highest remaining seed.
So I stand corrected.

I’ve gotta believe the selection committee has some latitude in who they invite to the tournament. If UMass gets to the final I don’t see how they dan be denied.

But what do I know….

Of course given the growth of college hockey, I think it’s time expand the field.
