Would you if your coach spent most of the game berating you, calling you a two year old or an f'ing bum and pouting with his arms crossed? That dude does not lift his team in any way and does not inspire confidence. That's probably it from me on Frank for a while. I've said what I need to say enough times. I hope the players can keep their heads up and pull together to get out of this funk in spite of him.69MG wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:15 pm ...I realize we had to foul but this team doesn't seem to have the mental toughness needed to close out games...

Watched the last two games and come away with the same conclusion.
Frank and his staff are brutal. They seem to be a bunch of yes men to Frank.
Two chances to take a time out last night and frank balked both times. Think they were down two with 59 seconds left, the offense was going no where, Banks took a shot and missed. Use a timeout there Franky.
Second time afte the missed free throw down three take time out after the guy crosses half court. Now, it is not like there is some great Brad Stevens misdirect play and they probably do not make the three anways, but it could have led to a better shot than a than the shot that went up.
Right now this team is not good enough to win games at winning time.
Not only is this program taking on water, we have a collective that feels the need to clear the air with everyone. LETS GO!

A team is a reflection of their coach. How many times did they foul a 3 pt shooter last night? I count at least 3 times. At least one time they didn’t box out on a foul shot leading to a key 3. This game was there for the taking. This team is mentally weak and poorly coached. Tough guy Frank is a paper tiger.

we gave up 13 points to Jesse Burris, the kid had not scored more than 5 in a D1 game, totally missed the scout Frank!

Anything worse flirts with missing the conference tournament entirely.stevemaz wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:37 am I do think we will rebound a bit and finish 9-9 ish in conference
In the current format where only the top 8 make it...
2021: the 8 seed (Ball State) was 8-9 (uneven number of games due to COVID cancelations)
2023: the 7 seed was 9-9
2024: the 7 was 9-9 and the 8 was 8-10

At the risk of appearing like a Frank defender . . . guys get hot on any given night, and Burris had his moment. The coaching staff isn't going to spend a lot of time/effort on a guy who only had 48 minutes of collegiate experience against D-I competition.PreecherJenkins wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 11:26 am we gave up 13 points to Jesse Burris, the kid had not scored more than 5 in a D1 game, totally missed the scout Frank!
Burris only got 4 minutes of PT in the second half, going 0-1 from the field.

They certainly don't appear to express dissenting opinions during games, at least not that we can see. Sometimes they sit in silence and don't even look in Frank's direction if Frank yells towards them about a busted play or bad execution.PreecherJenkins wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 10:16 am Frank and his staff are brutal. It's the opposite of that time when Bruiser was giving it right back to Archie Miller at Indiana in 2020

Worth noting that 2019-2020 was Bruiser's last season at Indiana, although Miller only survived there another year himself.

Unfortunately, Frank is not a Mike Vrabel type who pats everyone on the back and shakes their hand as they head to the locker room postgameJuice Stand wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:14 amWould you if your coach spent most of the game berating you, calling you a two year old or an f'ing bum and pouting with his arms crossed? Preech, I looked at the game and Ohio's stats. I have to give Frank and the staff a pass on Burris. The game plan was sound. We held their 2 leading scorers (combined 30 points) to 17 points. You don't expect a bench guy to burn you like that. He had a total of 18 points in 7 DI games and was 4/14 from 3. I'm not saying we couldn't have done a better job guarding him, but he's not in anybody's game plan.PreecherJenkins wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 11:26 am we gave up 13 points to Jesse Burris, the kid had not scored more than 5 in a D1 game, totally missed the scout Frank!
I wish we had a guy buried on the bench (Ohio's 10th leading scorer) who could give us 3/6 from 3 and 13 points. Mybe Placide is that guy.
