Just stumbled upon how Florida State has been said to have the nation's #1 recruiting class.

Among that class is a familiar name: Shahid Muhammad. Shahid ended up at FSU after an arguably sub-par season with UM this past season. Seminoles.com has a piece about him: https://seminoles.com/news/2025/8/24/me ... ll-growing

There will be motivation on both sides: Shahid to show off what didn't shine thru at UMass, Frank and DHS to provide some measure of payback.

FSU kicked our ass this past season, 92-59 at Mohegan Sun, as we struggled to figure out lineup combos. We gave up 57% from the floor and shot only 31%, including 3-24 (.125) from 3.

Shahid was mostly a non-factor. Got the start, but picked up 2 fouls and only got 8 minutes of total PT, with 1 rebound.

Luke Loucks takes over the 'Noles from longtime coach Leonard Hamilton. Hamilton, who was 76 upon finishing this past season, left with something of a cloud over him as he was being sued by former players.

Back to Coach Loucks, he's a former 'Nole himself, having played from 2008-12. He put up 12-3-3-4 on us in 2011.

This is Loucks' first job in the college ranks. He was on the Golden State and Sacramento Kings staffs since finishing his pro playing days in 2016.

I'm still flying high after last night's win against BC, and I should probably know better, but I'm officially amped up for the game against Florida St. This is the toughest non-con game on our schedule, and being in Florida will make it even tougher. I don't know anything about FSU this year, other than they have a new coach for the first time in ages. Warren Nolan has us losing by 4 and Bart Torvik has us losing by 6, so let's play like we have nothing to lose and get after it.
