Well, then if the conversation is "image over results", we are failing far worse than financially.eldonabe wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 7:11 amUsed to be VOR wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 7:55 pm I certainly do not recall being anti-football in 2009. I never liked Kevin Morris, but I hardly think I was alone in that position.
As I stated in other posts I have been "mostly" agnostic on Football (barring a few rants here and there), but this year when it really is starting to cannibalize other sports and more importantly other sports fans that kind of pushed me back into the fray.
And honestly, my most consistent comment is I think the school should fund an objective study that really demonstrates the cost and benefits of all the options for football. Because I think those results would be interesting.
The cost benefit question has intangibles that would be hard to quantify. There is no way on a pure dollar and cent basis that this program is profitable right now, and it may never be, but that is not the actual goal.
Times have changed and while cashflow / profit is still important we live in the "look at me" generation. You gotta be seen to be anything - the social medias have turned things upside down in the world of what makes you successful. The generation of the narcissist.....
