I think our staff is full now. We added a new position two years ago (Anthony Evans as Director of Player Development) and I don't think there's been further expansion.

If there is room to hire, move Tony Regueira to the end of the bench with Trainer Dave Maclutsky. I don't know why our strength guy needs to be among the assistant coaches, when Dave is down on the far end. Tony never says anything whenever I've observed him on the bench or in timeout huddles. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on missing where he's adding in-game value.

And if we don't have room on the bench, I know of a priest that doesn't need to be there.

I just assume a coach or two will move on each year - but agree that Maclutsky has no business sitting in the middle of the coaches 0 but with that said, I don't think that has anything to do with hiring Barbee - can't imagine Maclutsky would go against the number of allowable coaches?

^ You mean Tony Regueira being in the middle, yes?

Anyway, I don't know what the coaching staff limit is, but I thought we were at it with the addition of Anthony Evans in 2023.

Yeah, I would be ok with that move. There's definitely one AC who is being grossly overpaid, but what what I would expect Tony would make if that position became available.

I missed the news about 6 weeks ago, but Tony has landed another job. He's an assistant now at Incarnate Word.

In a bit of an awkward twist, Tony now works for his former subordinate. UIW is led by Shane Heirman, who was Tony's top assistant at Central Michigan. Heirman is now in year 3 at UIW, where they improved significantly from year 1 to 2.

UIW is in San Antonio and competes in the Southland Conference.
