A tale of 2 penalties….WM stopped UMass but UMass couldn’t stop WM.

Lots of time left though….

Tough way to end the season but there's a reason WMU won 31 games. Seemed like once they took the lead they were hell bent on not letting another one get through. Thought our attack was good in the last 5 minutes.
They're playing MACsketball. We love that MACsketball.

Great season. Tough call but that's the game sometimes. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them.

Lost to a better team IMO. Sucks. UMass had a lot of opportunities the first 30 minutes or so and only capitalized once. That what it came down to.

Good luck to WMU here on out. Will root for them in St. Louis as long as it’s not against a Hockey East Team.

I hope this and the MAC affiliation are the start of annual home and home series between the programs. I think it would greatly benefit both. Have them the same week the football teams play or the basketball teams depending on schedules.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Nice effort by the guys ,just couldn’t get the momentum back after Suniev’s questionable major !!!!
All in all a good year the way they greatly improved as the year progressed. Now the question is how many of our drafted players decide to stay for another year . Would love to have Suniev,Locmelis and O’Hara all come back !!!
At least the Gorillas got a big win today over #15 St.Joes.

W Michigan coach, who complained about not getting any penaltie before the 2nd period began, got the gift of all gifts. Where do I begin? First Umass dominated this team until the Call. The call in my mind is excessive as you Umass lost its 2nd best player and allowed the other team to hav3 five minute power player regardless of how may times it scored. Second, w Michigan was only able to make 15 shot on goal in 55 minutes but the penalty allowed the. An additional 15 shots with a man advantage! I would say the refs put their thumb on the scale. Third, the officials makeup for 5 minute call with 5 minute call against them to make it look like it was fair and balanced but they completely changed the game in terms of momentum, easy scoring/shot for w Michigan and removing a great player in our team. Finally. How is it that a coach can challenge a call that is subjective to begin with The hit looked even less like a major after the replay but the refs decided that the player penalty needed to be upgraded. This is wher AI is needed because at least you can say the call is less subjective based. In the end, w Michigan should take the refs out to eat tonight and thanks them for their service!

Tough way to lose but that’s how it goes sometimes.
Would love to see an annual game or games between these two teams now that UMass is in the MAC for most of our teams.

Proud of the way the team jelled as the season went on. At least it gave us a team to root for in March.

69, I know that last comment was just out of frustration (me included) for what has transpired, but
there are a lot of Umass Student Athletes working just as hard as the "Big Three" kids, right now,
for their respective teams and deserve our attention and support....just sayin...

Can somebody tell me why Suniev's major included a game misconduct while the WM major was just a discreet major?

Cause it was Suniev's 2nd penalty of the game.

I don’t believe that is true.

The official call was “Hitting from behind”. That also falls into the category for Game Misconduct, as well as “hitting the head” , “Intent to injure.” and others that don’t involve on the ice activity.

There were games this year where players had two (2) or more penalties and didn’t get a Game Misconduct.
