Talk about an overhyped recruit. Kennard Robinson was a better player than this guy!

Yes problem with Talfare is he was clueless on the basketball floor. Obvious you have to know the game and he didnot. Problem with our team now they have talents but dont have as a group lot of court sense. Coaches need help on that thoug we need recruit players that have a feel for the game not just athletic ability.

His talent might have resulted in positive results here, but he was always going to struggle at a higher level unless he really worked hard to improve. The results over the last 2 years shows he didn't put in the effort to overcome the lack of "basketball IQ," as the kids say these days.

Not sure you can say that did not put in effort.. Dude might not be that good, and dudes at this level are just as athletic as he is.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Sat Mar 15, 2025 1:32 pm His talent might have resulted in positive results here, but he was always going to struggle at a higher level unless he really worked hard to improve. Agree. He was not a worker. Relied on/hoped his natural abilities would carry him. That was the scuttle I’ve heard.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 1:04 pmPreecherJenkins wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 12:24 pm

Quite possible. His dad is a super smart and accomplished dude, however. Surprised if that didn't filter down. But I don’t follow UMass transfers, so I don’t know.minutefanjsf wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 4:45 pmAgree. He was not a worker. Relied on/hoped his natural abilities would carry him. Correct. Gapare hit the Portal today.inthescoop wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:42 pm I think Tafare will transfer to his 4th school next season
Averaged 10.3 minutes for Maryland this season, his career low.

Can't find a spot that works for him.
Re: KAEO Tafara Gapare
Didn't appear to be a team player. More interested in highlights than winning. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I saw him.

I think you're kidding, but yes, pretty much everywhere has some form of pro ball, NZ included.

Sure 4 schools in 4 years is crazy, but Willard left. We’d give anyone else a pass in this scenario.

Re: KAEO Tafara Gapare
^oh he definitely gets a pass. The system is completely broken. Coaches, players, and dumb fans alike. Tafara should do whatever makes his wheels turn. 100%. He functions in a stupid world. College hoops completely sucks (worst NCAA I can remember) but no reason to begrudge rational actors.
