New Just Being Frank episode out today. Some themes we've heard before, and they're getting a little tired. That said, some good stuff on Jayden and our centers.

I actually enjoyed that. You're always going to get some '"church of Frank Martin", that's just the way it is, but there was a lot of good basketball talk in there.

2 reasons why we're 4-3 in A10 play. Maybe they are the reason and maybe not. Our 2 weak spots were free throw shooting and 3 point shooting. I was bored so I looked them up. There are other reasons, such as improved defense, etc., but these are quantifiable.

Free throw%: Non-conference games - 63%. A10 games - 74%
3 point shooting: Non conf. - 27%. A10 games - 32%.

We take about 25 free throws a game, so we go from making 16 to making 19. We take around 20 3-pointers a game, so we go from making 5 to making 6. That's a gain of 6 points a game. To me, those are free points.

Rivera has gone from about 52% on free throws to 65%. Not great, but much better. Ndjigue has gone from 55% to an astounding 11/12 or 92%.

I could do more, but that's enough.

nice research - and to show how important those points would have been - we lost 3 games by 6 or less and 2 more by less than 8 points - add in 6 more points - depending on when you got them - maybe you hit a big three late in 1st half to go up by 8 rather than miss and the other team hits a shot to cut deficit to 2 going to half - thats a big swing. They could very easily be 13-7 rather than 9-11

^ When you are retired and it's too darn cold to be outside you spend your time on stuff like this. Any other stats people want to know? I'm willing to give it a shot.

Don't love that Lasalle just beat URI. We'll be dealing with an angry URI team in Kingston on Wed.

They couldn't miss at the Ryan Center last year. This is a big game to continue to grab confidence and momentum, with another tough road game following on Sat.

I think we match up decently with them. Winning the boards will give us an edge.

The next 3 will tell us a lot about the team. Away games at URI and Duq. and a home game against SLU. If we can get 2 I'll be very happy.

URI has Brown for their center ! Could be a problem! Otherwise it’s Thomas who left then came back this year ! He's good ! Big game ! If Duquesne loses today we’re tied for 4 th !

Doesn't mean much at this point in the season, but 4th place. Tied with Dayton and Duquesne, but UMass beat Dayton and Dayton beat Duquesne, so with tie-breakers, 4th.

URI’s shooting was ridiculous in that game. I’d wiped it from my memory until I saw your comment.

I'm honestly not sure I've ever seen a game where a team shoots as well as they did in that game last year.

In case anyone forgot, they were 14/23 from three. They were hot in both halves, 7/11 and 7/12. Kind of weird, but they were only 13/29 from 2.

The 3 guys who killed us, House, Gren and Estevez are all back. They were 13/20.
