LA Tech is apparently going to be a double-header along with Seton Hall & Hofstra, per this report:

Nice! This is a really good mix. I know people will shit on the UMass Boston game, but whatever, there are plenty of schools out there scheduling D3 fillers.

This stretch of games from Nov 8 through Nov 27 is really good:
at West Virginia
Louisiana Tech neutral court
Hofstra at home
Temple neutral court
Florida St neutral court
at Harvard

Then a bunch of cupcakes mixed in with some tough games against UMass Lowell in Amherst and Arizona St in Springfield. For my money, that's a nice OOC schedule.

Less than great, for sure, but it's worth noting that lots of D1 teams have a D2/3 game on their schedule. It's not just us.

I'd also rather play a D2/3 than not at all. You may not learn much from that level opponent, but you don't learn anything from an off day.
I suppose, but a little disappointed we couldn't fill it with a D1 opponent.

^ +1
My first thought is what Sheck said….really?

I can see playing a D2/D3 team as an exhibition but not on the actual schedule. Disappointing to say the least.

Playing a Division 3 UMass-Boston from the "Little East Conference" in a game that counts is wild.

I love it. We get two teams from the Big 12, one from the ACC, and renew the rivalry with Temple and all people can think about is one game against UMass Boston. ASU is in Springfield, Temple and FSU are in Connecticut. These are big games within driving distance to most fans.

I really like the schedule and they are playing several games against P5 conferences which is great. The UM-Boston game is a bit odd, maybe that is all they had for options. But if they had to play a D3 school a game vs Amherst would have been my choice, this would have been great for the town and the game would prob bring in a decent crowd. But that is just nit picking.

It's a 31 game season for the first time in a while I think and getting these 6 non-conference games will be a nice test for the team. And I count 15 games at the Mullins Center. One in Springfield, two in Boston, and two at Mohegan Sun. Have to be happy about this.

@ West Virginia
Louisiana Tech (neutral)
Temple (neutral)
Florida St. (neutral)
@ Harvard
Arizona St (neutral)

^ I think it's 16 home games. UNH and Hofstra in Nov. and then 5 in Jan. prior to the ASU game in Springfield.

Check out the Mass Collective podcast. Their latest guest was Jaylen Curry, and it's a fun listen. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t ... 1707478577

He sounds humble and hungry. Talks a little bit about how impressed he is with the freshmen. Bring a Chick-Fil-A to Rt 9 for this dude!

AIC gives scholarships. UMB does not.
