Based on the games UMass played against them this season, who else was surprised by the score of yesterday’s URIne-Dayton score?
Dayton 96
URIne 62
Anytime any league game is a 34 pt loss it is a little surprising but when we played URI they were at home and they hit a lot of shots early that they normally don’t percentage wise and they road that momentum…that often happens at home.
Dayton was at home and got up early and road that momentum. The difference between UMass and URI is the toughness UMass has to not get blown out when the other team has it going….when a team takes the personality of the coach to the floor they will have success. The only game this year that I’ve felt we didn’t have it was Towson.
My opinion is UMass is in a group of 4-5 teams that are just behind Dayton in the league.

That is the kind of shit that one-bid leagues constantly suffer from unfortunately.
The thing I don't understand is P6 conferences always talk about how everyone beats up on each other and thats why there records aren't great at the end of the year - yet they get 5/6 or more teams in each year - but A-10 is arguably the 7th best conference - so why do our teams get hurt so much by beating up on one another and end up as a 1 bid league unless there is an upset? you'd think being 1 notch below a Power 6 conference would warrant a little respect from the committee - and maybe it will this year but just based on the first week or so of conference play - we will once again beat up on each other and it will ultimately hurt our chances of getting multiple bids. I get they go by NET and other computer formulas so I get how the teams are picked - it just sucks
It called self-serving logic! And unfortunately, it means more bids for them and one for you. Expand the tournament to 128 teams so we can settle the inflated power conference logic. Seth Green during the half time CBSSN when we played Dayton literally slapped down another talking head when he called Dayton a mid major. Let’s label so you can minimize a conference and a teams accomplishment!

If the A10 tournament started now, 10th-place UMass would be in the pillow fight. Hope "you are what your record says you are" doesn't apply or is premature. 1 more win and UMass would be at .500 and tied for 5th place.
SLU looked terrible tonight losing by 23 at home to Davidson, but they beat St. Joe's in their previous home game.

The standings look ridiculous heading into this weeks conference games. 9 teams with 4 or 5 losses. One of those teams will go on a run.

SBU won at home vs VCU 67-62, after being behind by 13 at the half. VCU scored 39 in the first half and 23 in the second half. They shot 26% in the second half, including 1/14 from 3. Tough to win on the road in the A10.
2 other A10 games tonight and both home teams won. Dayton beat GW 83-61 and things didn't get any better for Travi Ford. SLU lost at Loyola 77-62.

Who are we rooting for tonight, GMU at St. Joes? GMU is 4-3 but we have a chance to knock them off. St. Joes is 3-4 but they hold the tie-breaker over us.

It clear by now that Dayton and Richmond are and will be the class of the A10 and the rest of the league outside of maybe SLU will be fighting or the #3-#14 as this is the most balanced I have ever seen the conference. I would have been disappointed with a 9-9 record at the beginning of the year, but it is apparent that UMass is a good team, but not enough to separate itself like Richmond and Dayton have at this point. In the end, UMass controls its destiny as every team (except Richmond and Dayton) we play going forward will impact the the final seedings for #3-#9, which are the most important in terms of a single or double bye. It starts with George Mason!

Not surprised as the A10 is much better this year as the top half of the league can compete with most teams in the country. I won’t be surprised this year if we get 2-3 teams on the NcAa tournament if the top 4 in the a10 continue to win and our NET rankings remain strong.

Dayton was down 57-53 with 6:36 left. They went on a 22-0 run before the dukes got a layup with 9 seconds left. 75-59 final. Dayton is clearly the best team and could make a run in the real tourney.

Probably the best spot to post this. Dayton just got worse:
