I think we should see continued improvement this season. Defense will likely be improved and should be able to give the offense opportunities to put up points. The key as always on offense will be how improved the OL is in run blocking and pass protection and whether there is a QB on this roster who can make smart decisions and pass accurately given the time to do so. I definitely believe in Don Brown and that he is rebuilding the program correctly.
So true. Injuries can impact the remaining games at any point. Just one reason disliking playing multiple body bag games. We have Auburn Sept 2nd and then Penn State Oct 14th. The things you point are true, but doing an educated guess by team is still fine in my book.

Its a free country and prognostication in July is a cottage industry for sure. Cautiously optimistic for an improved season. If I bump into Don on the Cape at one of the old places I used to see him in years past, perhaps I'll ask him what he thinks. :D

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Who he?
His passion is focused on MAC teams and spends time and effort, so enjoy his outside point of view/perspective. Did ask him to summarize UMass Rival recruiting ratings and he posted them on the CNSbbs forum. Don't think we'll beat EMU and don't know a lot about him. But glad he has engaged to post other topics and do find his views interesting. It's nice to here something more specific than 2-3 winds plus his insight on the MAC teams.

I was referring to you saying the wins are not going to pile up.............don't be surprised if New Mexico and Ark State are wins
WOW - Umass could jump all the way up to #125 in they can beat up on those two perennial powerhouses.....

There are 261 Div 1 football teams, not as many as basketball but I'll take #125, top half. If only basketball was in the top half of division 1 this season, Then we have both programs will finally be moving in the right direction. Let's hope for a good season in all UMass sports.
If you include FCS in your total, the number of D1 teams actually jumps up to 261 (as there are 130 FCS teams) – but note, 2 of those FCS teams are the ones moving up to FBS soon.

I'm a first time season ticket holder for football this year. Do you know when they usually send out tickets/have them available online? I didn't receive any confirmation message after calling so was wondering if they come later

My guess is in a month. Or Just under 3 weeks before the first home game.

First home game is 9/9, so probably the week of 8/21, or 8/28 at the latest.

The tickets are all digital now, I believe. So, the only thing to be mailed are parking passes. The tickets usually are released during the third week of August. That’s how it has been for the last 24 years.

I often felt like I should be part of a reality TV Show. My current idea is called Fifty-something Flop House.

Correct on the timing, but one can still get physical tickets if requested. His question was "mailed/available online" so I suspect he might be one of those (like me).
