Game 14, 2022-23: Saint Louis (1/4)

Awesome win and I'll admit that I didn't think we would play this well. When they cut it to 1 or 2 in the 2nd half I thought we might implode but we showed a lot of character and made a bunch of clutch shots.

I thought that was our most complete game of the season, not a perfect game, but complete. Aside from early in the 2nd when it was a 1-point game, UMass maintained their focus and pressure and looked like the better team for most of the night.

This was also the first game where it looked like they had good chemistry. It seemed like guys trusted each other on defense, and they had a real good feel for where they would be going on offense. Both units were in sync. It was beautiful to see.

Great win and well earned! It seemed in the first half that we surprised TF with our defense. DD still continues to impress me with his improvement and too bad he fouled out.
Thought Brandons play was valuable especially at the end. Hope coach talks to Brandon about jacking three's. His game is playing inside.

Fun game to watch and a nice bounce back win. We looked like a completely different team from the team that got its pocket picked all over Olean. Still alot of things to clean up but that was an impressive performance to get on top and never surrender the lead.

great team win. As for TJ getting so few minutes in the 2nd half, I thought RJ playing so well had something to do with that. Brandon Martin had a good game, despite missing open 3s. Loved seeing Noah make 9 of 10 FTs after struggling on those, and of course he did everything well last night against SLU's star. DD fouled out while playing just 12 minutes, and with Wildens out and Kante fouling out that could have been fatal. But with his offensive efficiency and the way he's been taking charges, there's a lot to like.

Good win, no doubt. Always nice to trash Ford. Nothing to get super excited about considering what we watched back on Saturday.

The basic good stuff: Great team effort, and we are something to deal with when Noah is healthy.
The basic not-so-good stuff: Fouls, and the Cross body language in the last two minutes was not good to see


Side Note: While it ended up being a charge anyways, had Dominguez connected on that dunk it would have been Mullins all-timer... that was something to see.

Good bounceback win for the team. I know SLU is not living up to expectations so far this season, but still a good win regardless. I think the Olean game is an aberration. It's clear that it's tough to play up there, but it's also very fluky and it was on NYE after an 11 day layoff. Now if we go down to GW and lose by 20, we'll have some problems.

Great game. Enjoyed it a lot. SLU occasionally had open lanes to the bucket, but that's what they do really well. Not sure what's ahead but we may not face a pg as talented as Collins again. I'm back in excited mode.

He has been ailing from knee tendinitis for about a month. Originally Frank said they were going to sit him for a couple of weeks (a few weeks?) to let it heal. In the postgame presser I think he said that Wildens was feeling better and even practiced, but they decided to hold him out. I'm not 100% sure on this since I was in postgame euphoria in my car so if anyone else heard this please speak up.

I love what TF accomplished while he was here. I'll always remember how much fun I had with my son at the Garden for the NIT FF.

That said, I'm happy that UMass beat his team last night!
