^ The announcer felt AIC’s win was a bigger upset than that Air Force game.

The biggest upset in college hockey ever according to the announcer.
This might be the biggest upset in hockey since the 1960 or 1980 Olympics. I love it. Thank you, AIC. 8 teams left and two of them are 25 miles apart.

After a SHI**Y day at work - 4 mins walk from the arena, it was so much fun to sit in the UMass sections and meet fellow alums, some bringing very young children - 5.5 years for example - who are totally into UMass hockey for almost 2.75 hours. Mesmerized. One Dad said his son was totally attentive for both games at the Garden last week, and has already mapped out his hockey career - UMass, Providence Bruins, then Boston Bruins. At 5.5? That's a fan!!!

Met another UM family whose Dad grew up .8 miles from me in Acton. 8 Year old was completely mesmerized by the game. 5 year old, needed Mom more, but not a whiner.

UMass is everywhere, and everyone I met was so nice. UMass was totally dominant in attendance.

And these very young kids were absolutely 'into it". No Crying, No Whining.

Either we are onto something, OR, UMass parents are superior. Perhaps both. On that note, no families let their kids play with electronics of any kind.

Anyway, great fun. Econ

I know there’s long way to go, but how cool would it be to see an all 413 final!

Box office and will call setup was a joke. Anyone arriving to the arena around puck drop likely missed the 1st period.

The pregame party at the bar was not ready for the number of Umass fans in Manchester. Staff could not keep up with the volume, it was like a stress test night on Bar Rescue.

St Cloud dominated that 3rd period. AIC goalie made some clutch stops near the end. Ice was tilted the same way Umass dominated shots and possession. One team wins 4-0 while the other loses 2-1.

Definitely recommend anyone going tomorrow to get there at least an hour before the game if you're buying tickets at the box office. I got there shortly before 2 and did not have to wait in line.

Athletic Department sent out an email: UMass sections tomorrow are 104-106 and the pregame gathering is at the Central Ale House at 3pm. I have a prior engagement I cannot get out of so won't be able to be there in person, but hoping to see and hear a lot of UMass supporters on TV.
Give WBB more money.

I had an interesting experience today watching the game live on my laptop at 35,000 feet while flying Boston to Phoenix. Saw the entire game. Only got two elbows in the ribs from Mrs. Cage when I might have been a tad too enthusiastic when we scored.

If the both win today, they’ll face each other in the semis of the FF.

Rumor has it that the box office opens 90 minutes before face-off. I’d advise that you either get there early or order online. Also note that there is a half marathon in Manchester this morning - although it may be over by the afternoon, expect road closures and parking near the arena as they disassemble staging.

Parking is tricky near the arena. The garage across the street from the arena was filled up two hours before face-off; perhaps it will be less busy on a weekend. There are some ten-hour metered spots near the rink as well as municipal garages several blocks away.

The pregame meetup at Central Ale House was slammed. A capacity crowd only served by two bartenders (one of whom was a service bartender). I waited twenty minutes to get a drink. Expect a reduced menu from what is on their website - I waited almost an hour for a burger. Other fans that ordered food asked to have the orders canceled as they had to go to the game and couldn’t wait any longer. They assured the crowd they would have more people on staff today.

I’ll be in Manchester with dad tonight. I’ve heard good things about a Brazilian Steak House (Gauchos) not far from the arena and that’s where we’re probably heading (not sure we want the wait described ^^^).

Go UMass.

Yesterday was awesome and I cannot wait to be back today. Playing Notre Dame makes it even better. I just hope we don’t have to go 5 overtime’s again to beat them. Let’s get to the Frozen Four!!!
