It's a very weird flex. You could almost imagine it scaring some people away from the game which is the opposite of what you would want to do. Why not add that there are plenty of reserved seats available.

Yeah, I think it did play into the smaller than expected crowd today. I'm also curious if they could have made part of the student section GA to sell more tickets, or could going forward. Otherwise the games when students are off campus are going to have the Mullins close to half empty/unsold.

I certainly didn't notice the nuace that it was GA sell-out. Had I been in the area, I wouldn't have tried to go given what I saw.

Someone called them out on this on Twitter. It should have simply been an announcement that GA was sold out but Reserved were still available. There are still plenty of people that don't know the difference between GA and Reserved.

Eh, I could go either way on that. I don't really have a problem with them doing it as a way to try and drum up excitement, especially when the students weren't going to be there. I just think the message was poorly relayed.

I heard more than one person who had just purchased tickets say they were told the game was a sellout. This was a poorly communicated message.
