I am guessing he meant UMass not Towson.

^ He picked up an offer from Towson a couple of days ago, I assume that's what he's referring to. I've seen no mention of UMass offering him, but it's certainly possible.

Could be referring to the Towson offer, no idea, but that would be pretty random, to make a comment in a thread about next year's team about a kid getting an offer from a school that has nothing to do with us.

Maybe we should all start peppering our posts with random musings. I'll start:

Today at work, three girls spent a solid ten minutes talking about their favorite Big Bang Theory episodes before we started a meeting. I imagine this is what hell will be like.

There was an article about an offer he received and it mentioned his previous offers and it said UMass...now they could’ve meant Lowell but they did not say Lowell, but that would be a good level for him.

The UMass vs. UMass-Amherst vs. UMass-Lowell situation is probably one of my biggest UMass pet peeves.

My early projection for the 18/19 roster.. assuming both Diallo and Wood are cleared to play and neither takes a redshirt year next year the team will have twice as many players than they ended up with this year.

Roster Locks
*Clergeot, Keon
*Cobb, Curtis
*Hayward, Kieran
*Laurent, Jonathan
*McLean, Unique
*Miller, Rayshawn
*Pierre, Carl
*Pipkins, Luwane
*Turner-Morris, Khalea
*Samba Diallo
*Tre Wood
*Franklin, Jaylen, *Gillespie, Mike both walk-ons, if only one return I think Franklin is more likely to come back that Gillespie but I'm sure McCall would welcome both back if they wanted to return as practice depth assuming there is room.

Candidates for departing
*Baldwin, Chris : Have to wonder if he'd look to transfer esp if he needs more recovery time after his surgery. Take the redshirt year and come back fully healthy in 19/20 elsewhere could be a possibility. Esp because it seemed he and McCall didn't always seem to be on the same page.
*Hines, Malik : If he graduates he'll have options on where he can play in 18/19 for his graduate year
* Holloway, Rashaan : Big unknown, will he get academically cleared, does he want to come back? Does McCall want him back?
* West, Randall : He is going back to football but the door would prob be open for a mid-season return in December 2018 /January 2019
I'm just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy In a world full of pushin' and shove...

^ I'll add two more names to the list of guys who are candidates for departing.

KTM could look to transfer down. By the end of the season he was losing time to a late-season walk-on 6'4" big man... that certainly doesn't bode well for his chances of getting major run with this team over the next 3 years.

Unique could also look to transfer down. It's hard for me to picture him getting meaningful minutes with this team going forward.

Wouldn't unique lose a year of eligibility if he transferred down

Regarding KTM and Unique; Turner-Morris just needs to develop, and I have McLean as the 5th guard on a team that will utilize a lot of guards. I think they both want to be at UMass, and that McCall wants them here. Time will tell.

Good post Fenway617. Forgot about all the transfers sitting out. Going to be a much better season next year! Hopefully we bring in a solid big man and Hinds stays on.Also can't wait to see Wood next year at the point.

I'm not entirely sure, if he went to another D1 he might lose a year, or maybe he'd need a waiver to get a year back... I'm really not sure. I think if he went to a JUCO for a year he wouldn't.

A big part of Unique's problem is that he can't shoot the ball... combine that with his sleight frame and he can't really defend forwards... that puts him in a tough spot.

At best I think Unique will be the 9th man in the rotation... and that's only if Holloway and Baldwin are gone and we can't get any decent big men to replace them.

So far, KTM seems like TBerg all over again. Great guy, real team player, but the ability isn't there. KTM took a post-grad year so he's not a young kid and he doesn't need time to develop physically.

KTM is much better than TB and he will have the ability to work with this staff and really improve as he has already shown a skill of going and getting the ball and that is very important. If we signed a 6’9 HS kid late do you really think we could get anyone who would be ready to help as much as KTM next year?
Rasheen had the scout of URI last year at VCU and Berry didn’t even make it onto his report...this year he was a starter and very valuable for them. The size you get in the A10, in most cases, takes time to develop and that is only if your staff can develop them. I believe that KTM will develop.

McCall seems to want his players to develop in all areas. I saw Tberg make 12-14 foot jumpshots in HS, yet I do not recall him ever taking one at UMass. I think MM sees what a players strength is, tells him this is your game, BUT you have to play D, rebound, etc; and then works on all those aspects.
