Really solid win. Dominated the entire game pretty much. Played with a lot of discipline only committing one minor penalty. This puts the guys’ heads in a good place to finish the Hockey East season. on another note, we got all the calls tonight. Looks like HEA got the memo.

Apparently from Carvy's email the league called to apologize for the 2 disallowed goals last weekend.

Haven't heard anyone comment on this but is Cale Maker at least a little over rated? His stats aren't very impressive for a #4 pick in last year's draft and I know there's more than scoring & assisting in the game but I truthfully expected a lot more especially this far into the season.

Ummmmm, that's an insane take. Did you not watch him in the Worlds?

Really don't care what he did there and I certainly don't profess to know anything about hockey but was hoping somebody whose seen him play regularly and is in the "know" had an opinion . . maybe I'm being too critical but just thought I'd bring it up.

Cale Makar is far and away the best player on this team -- best skater, best playmaker and best defenseman. He makes everybody around him better. They have been a completely different team in the games he has missed this year. He significantly increases the confidence of every other player on the team, as well as the coaching staff. I personally have never seen a better or stronger skater at UMass. If he had played in the 7-8 games he has missed, the team would have at least 3 more wins in my opinion.

What he did there was amazing and showed his individual talent. What he is doing here has shown his talent at making every single person on the team better. His presence on the ice alone has boosted this team. They have certainly hit a bit of a wall in conference play in 2018, but their play in the first half of the season was nothing but remarkable considering the rebuild Carvel has had to go through.

As a side note, during he BU game over the weekend, it was amazing to see the Freshmen stats... as a unit, they were first in all of D1 NCAA in all major stats. That's incredible.

What he did there shows the type of player he is, which is not overrated as you seem to think. You are aware that he declined an olympic spot to stay at UMass and continue his education and development right?

The team has a lot of freshmen that are skating on a regular basis, the pieces are coming together, but it will not be overnight in a league like Hockey East and against teams that are skating say three to five freshmen at most.
