What can I say...I hate St. Loooie; I hate their mascot that looks like a bad rip-off of a Dr. Seuss character, I hate their coach, and most of all I hate the fact that I can't watch the game.

According to the list released at the start of the season this game was/is listed as a FREE stream. So you will be able to watch it on your computer.
Re: Game 21, 2016-17: at St Louis (1/25)
The rematch with Travis Ford. Wednesday at SLU, 8pm Eastern / 7pm Central. (SLU is the only A10 member not in Eastern time.)
Game will be on Fox Sports Midwest, but looks like there won't be a stream. (Berkman: link what you referred to please. This article did not mention SLU as one of them.)
Maybe it's good that we won't be able to see it. SLU says "New Billiken introduced at half." Don't wanna scare the children.
SLU's rebuilding mode has played out in their current record: 5-14 overall / 1-6 A-10. Their lone A10 win was at George Mason, 63-56, on 1/14. In the bad news department, they did what we couldn't: win in Fairfax. SLU slowed Mason down, whereas our game was fast. UM/GMU hoisted a combined 141 shots. SLU/GMU shot 106. And although Mason just turned it over 11 times to SLU, the Bilks converted those 11 into 20 points.
SLU's A10 losses have come at home to Rhody, Davidson, and SBU. On the road, they lost to La Salle, Duq, and Dayton this weekend.
SLU is last in the league in scoring offense, just 59.8 ppg, and 10th in defense at 71.4 ppg. That -11.6 gap is almost 10 points worse than the #13 team in the league (Duquesne). And as the low totals might suggest, SLU is also last in the league in shooting (.390 FG overall), but 9th from 3 (.328). We continue to reside in the basement in our 3 shooting (.296).
Jermaine Bishop shows up as their leading scorer (11.6 ppg), but he's been out since mid-December with an ankle injury.
Davell Roby is the active leading scorer, but at just 10.4 ppg.
SLU has about 7 scorers, then the production falls off, but Roby is the only double-digit man.
Their leading rebounder is Reggie Agbeko at 7.7 rpg, which puts him at 4th in the league. He also shoots .559 (5th in the league), and scores 9.6 ppg.
As a team, SLU is averaging -4.0 on the glass.
We could see a lot of fouls in this game. We both suck at the stripe
SLU. 650 (tied for 12th in the league)
UM .646 (league-worst)
In the good news department, we don't face anything like the steal threat that Fordham gave us. SLU is last in steals/game: just 4.6 (versus Fordham's 10.5, and 14 vs us on Saturday).
I wonder if Kellogg will say anything at all to Ford in the usual pre/post game pleasantries. Kellogg was left with a fairly bare cabinet when he took over at UM in 2008.
Kellogg is just 2-6 vs SLU, 1-3 each versus Majerus and Crews. Although we did get our first win at Chaifetz, two years back. Last season, SLU beat us in Amherst by 11.

Re: Game 21, 2016-17: at St Louis (1/25)
Guys lets start breaking this season into chunks. Much like Coach Cal breaks the game into four 10 minute segments that his team can focus on. They concentrate on just winning 10 minute segments instead of focusing on the overall game. What we need to do is just concentrate on this week's 2 games. Win this "segment" and then things will look totally different on Saturday night when you are guzzling IPAs and tapping a coed. Last Saturday after the Fordham game I went to McMurphys and it was just like the Blue Note bar in Naked Gun....very depressing.
Coach Norman Dale: I would hope you would support who we are. Not, who we are not. These 15 individuals have made a choice to work, a choice to sacrifice, to put themselves on the line 23 nights for the next 4 months, to represent you, this school. That kind of commitment and effort deserves and demands your respect. This is your team.

Why would I want to watch us lose to Saint Louis?Berkman wrote:According to the list released at the start of the season this game was/is listed as a FREE stream. So you will be able to watch it on your computer.

From a talent standpoint we are 10-12 points better than SLU. Deduct 4 points for home court and it's down to 6-8. How many points is the in-game and game planning coaching worth? This could be a closer game than it should be. As much as I despised Ford for leaving the way he did, what would our record be with this roster and his coaching?

Well he wouldn't have this roster. So moot point. He was unable to recruit here. The class he had in pipeline when he left had no one @ the A10 level.

^ I wasn't asking if he would have had this roster. I was asking what do we think he could do with this roster. My guess is that we would be 5-2 instead of 2-5.

He got fired for a reason.. he is nothing special as a head coach IMO.. OK state gives you a hell of a lot of resources to win with and he couldn't. Ford is pretty damn overrated

The one thing I always loved about TF teams was their conditioning. His teams were ALWAYS in game shape!

I agree LS, always in better shape than their opponents. Played a very exciting style as well.

Ford is a much better coach than DK. He would have this team playing better than they are

Re: Game 21, 2016-17: at St Louis (1/25)
This SLU team is one of the worst A10 teams I've ever seen. Just really really bad. They'll be good in two or three years (TF somehow has some AMAZING recruits committed) but this year's squad simply cannot score the basketball. Only reason GMU put up a clunker was because they went utterly cold from the field. If we shoot even a respectable percentage, we should win fairly easily, but it's still a road game so ya never know. If we somehow lose, our season could unravel in a historically shitty manner. I think we bounce back and win 74-61.
