Clearly some posters care about what Derrick's doing now that he's left UMass. Funny, I don't see any posts from them questioning why other posters don't.

^^ I just picked a random name from my time at UMass to see if he had had been discussed on this board (and to try to show that our guys will always be Umies). Nice to see him doing well.

Agree. If you don't care about him then don't click on this thread.

Why are you clicking into a post you don't care about only to comment that you don't care and question why others do? Are you one of those people that just has to be heard? And you do realize that by commenting on a post that you don't care about and can't understand why others care you are keeping it near the top of the board with a 'new post' icon next to it making it far more likely that more people will click on it and comment thus really getting you even more upset.

You see I don't care about the "Pitino extortion case" so I have not clicked on that thread. Because I have self-control or I am the master of my domain .. if you will.

The "don't click on it" idea makes no sense.....mg doesn't care about the same old gordon talk....but until he clicks he doesn't know for sure what the new post is about. Could be something he is interested in.

Which is why most people, me included, click on EVERYTHING new. Even women's basketball posts.

I do buy the "then don't comment" idea. Commenting just to say you're not at all interested is a little weird.

Wow you guys must have a lot of self-control. I have to open any topic that has an "New" marker by it. It drives me insane if I don't (not literally but you get the point).

Well, I clicked on this thread and holy shit, what a firestorm. I can't believe my comment evoked that much animosity.

I'll make a few points and then I will refrain from posting in this thread again.

1. I open every thread because you never know what you are going to get. The way threads get hijacked, anything is possible.

2. I like DG and had a chance to meet him and talk to him after he came out. I just don't care about his career at Seton Hall.

3. This board gives people an opportunity and encourages people to state their opinion. That's all I did regarding this thread. For fenway617, if you want to say that you want this thread to continue, fine. However, your personal attack was completely uncalled for and it's posts like yours that take away the enjoyment of participating in this forum. Have a nice day.

69mg, you post why give a rats ass about who seton hall plays. Then you post an article about Seton Hall and their lineup. Then you post again questioning why we care about DG. You sure you don't care?

Some of you guys really need to step back sometimes from the board. It's the incessant posting that can take away from the board.

There was no personal attack. Only a question as to why you complain about people posting on a topic that you continue to post in yourself. Maybe you like to complain about things is all I implied and the evidence backs it up.

(A) You still post in this topic when you claim not to care and you even posted a link to an article (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12607&p=410776#p410776) from the Asbury, NJ press about Gordon's role at Seton Hall on Oct 1st that stated Gordon would be the 6th man for Seton Hall this year! It was a nice find and relevant!

(B) So either the Asbury Press part of your daily reading and you stumbled upon this article? Or you Googled Derrick Gordon looking for new information about him hoping to add to this discussion? Either way you are making posts in a topic one day that provide new information and insights then complain people are posting about that same topic not long after. If you really don't care about this topic why post an article about him two-weeks ago?

So back to the thinking that you just like to complain about this.

I for one appreciate what DG meant to the UMass basketball program. He played a key part in getting us back to the tournament for the first time in ages, and was a good representative of the program and school. More importantly, I'm proud of and happy for him for coming out while here at UMass, and will hopefully use his platform to continue to help others.
