Wow! Mr. Gordon is gone! Or, is he? Certainly not from the hearts and minds of UMass basketball fans. Time to move on.

I am not sure anyone is accusing DG of not working/trying hard. the following is rambling around a bit, but I am having a hard time putting this in a specific order so call this random thoughts:

I do think that there is A LOT of posturing going on here. I think everyone agrees that DG is not a NBA level talent whatsoever; but somebody is telling DG he is, or DG has convinced himself that he is. He has waved the LGBT flag a couple times since he announced his decision to leave and used this as the reason his services have not been overly sought out by other schools. He has alluded to issues at Umass but not really laid out any specifics.

The school he did choose was very recently in the news for some fairly significant "anti-DG-like" reasons. Why the hell would you lead with your chin like that? If you truly want to focus on a potential NBA career, why would you choose a place to work on that where they are morally against who you are as a person? That would be a huge distraction at the very least. I am guessing he had very few if any other options and if he wanted to keep playing at a P5ish level school this was the only option. I mean really, leaving Umass for Seton Hall is like picking the blue one over the blue one. One of two things are going on: he fucked up and over thought his value (from which now he needs to stay on the page he wrote about NBA aspirations); or he is on a crusade to push "his cause" as the first one to do this and he needs more plot for his impending story line in his book.

I think he loves playing the game and I think he works hard at it; but, I also think he is trying to play every angle he can at this point to better his future either as an author or a paid basketball professional. I have no skin in the game other than I want to see any former or current Umass guy be successful; so as a semi-casual observer I am frustrated with the spitball approach he seems to be taking here where he is throwing everything up against a wall to see what sticks.

I might be missing something, but I thought Gordon said the issues he had at UMass were of the on-court variety. That is he thought he was capable of more on offense than DK did. I may have missed something like I said, but I thought he left because he wanted more of an role on offense to show what he is capable of (only to end up at a school with a couple of shot-happy underclassmen who will be playing ahead of him). If I missed him being vague and mysterious, well I guess I don't really give a shit to find out more.

At any rate, I wish him well and hope things work out for him. Not sure why anyone would not want that for him. I just hope The Patriot doesn't hunt me down. That's a bad place to be, to be stalked by The Patriot.

Hope Derrick is really working hard on his outside jumper.

The only way he is going to the draft in 2016 is if he buys a ticket.

I mean if they end up playing UVA... you have UVA, Georgia, who should be above average in the SEC, GW, Rutgers (b1g) wichita state will be very good, and USF (AAC).. Thats not exactly a cake walk by any means

Why do we give a rat's ass who Seton Hall is playing, even if DG is on the team?
