It's closer to the stadium LOL, that's why I grabbed it. Damn tailgate had to be 100 miles away. We'll live, we could all use the exercise.

I have not followed a ton of this thread yet, but wanted to post something about the UMASS Alumni Association and Athletic department I am very disappointed in...

I am not able to make it out to ND for this game, but was looking for a viewing party in Boston. Figuring that this is the biggest name we play, and Boston is a city we are trying to build the fan base in, this wouldn't be an issue. I was told by the athletic dept. that there is NO viewing party scheduled, but to go to the fours/the point, as they are owned by UMass alumni. I then sent an email to Bamford, and got an email back from someone else in the athletic department stating that there are viewing partys in...Orlando, Chapel Hill, Seattle, and Huntington Beach, CA, and that they hoped this helps.

We need viewing parties in every major city in the northeast. How can we expect to build the fan base if we don't at least try to get them excited.

A few of my friends and I have reached out to the point to try to set something up. If we don't head back from UMass officially on this, we are trying to get something going there, for anyone else who can't make it to the game this weekend.

And right as I posted that...

Let me check with our staff who can discuss with the alumni assoc. I agree we should do something if we are not.

^ I'm sorry, but a Boston game watch can't happen. The Boston Alumni group exhausted all of their allotted funds on their recent Painting Social.

One of my friends can't make it, so I have an extra ticket for section 115. If anyone would like to buy this from me, contact me and we'll see if we can work it out.

Unlike my profile, I live in the Springfield MA area now, but will be in Chicago on Friday.
Oh my god, they love state schools out here.

Of course. I live in EMass and have been continually dazed and confused by the priorities of the local alumni group for decades.

Why wouldn't the UMass Club pair up with the AA to host game watches for every single televised UMass sporting event? As Ricky Pitino would say, it's a no-brainer.

That's far too logical. Stop it.

We talked to The Point, they are going to host the Boston Viewing Party. We also sent this to the alumni association, and they are going to send an email blast out this afternoon, but feel free to pass it along. Would be great to get a good crowd.

haha, that's kinda what I meant... why aren't you setting up a tailgate in the lot you are in, being so close?

I don't have an advance parking pass, so I'm going to have to take my chances. The Burke lot would be my first preference, but that will probably be full by the time I get there. (I know the website said Burke passes were sold out, but I think they just sell a limited number in advance, and then it's first-come, first-serve for those without passes.) It looks like there's plenty of parking available in the White lot whether you have a pass or not, but I've seen some travel websites where ND fans recommend parking in private lots south of the campus. Far easier to get out after the game, they say. We'll see.

They allow tailgating for 3 hours after the game. That in and of itself should help deal with traffic, if you'll willing to post up and enjoy the evening in the lot for a bit longer.
