My guess is this will be game 3 unless we do not get an opening night game on 11/13. My best is we will have an 11/13 game. 11/15 we have Howard at home.

As far as why are we playing Harvard on the road, my guess is to create balance between the home and road schedule across seasons. Last season in the non-conference we were on the road a great deal. In 2013/2014 we benefited from a ton of home games, but suffered for it last season. My guess is this has some forward thought into the 2016/2017 season schedule. In 2016/2017 we are already playing at Providence, at Ole Miss and may do another Power 5 away. All about balance when you have 18 league games (9 of which are obviously on the road) and at least 2 and possibly 3 neutral court games in a tournament of some type. So unless you want to play the majority of your non-conference (and all your "big" games) away in 2016/2017 it makes sense to get Harvard away this year for a home game next year.

Always need to be thinking big picture in recruiting, planning and scheduling as best you can.

May be me being selfish but I love it cause it's easy to go to. Also, believe it is very important to have a game in Boston annually for alumni- I bet that played a part and we should play Harvard annually in my opinion

I personally think its a great idea to play @Harvard.. On paper it looks like a quality road game.. when it is actually a UMASS home game based on the fans

The arena is like 5 mins from me so I'm pretty pumped were playing at Harvard again. Like mlaconte said, last year was essentially a home game for UMass and a phenomenal atmosphere all around. One of the best games Cady played in a UMass uniform. Weird to say, but I truly think our season would have turned out differently if Treys shot went down. The team lost a ton of confidence after that game and lost 6 of 8 as a result..pretty much killed our chances at an at large in the process.

Good point but you could say the same thing about a missed free throw that happened about a week later in Utah...

I doubt Harvard is going to let this be another UMass home game again. It's not over intersession this time, and I would expect there to be better representation from the Harvard folks. Just sayin'...

^All the more reason we have to gobble up all the tickets the first day they go on sale. Yes there will be a few hundred Harvard students that weren't there last time, but we can still take 50 percent of the gym if we buy early. Their season ticket base was only like 3 sections if I recall correctly.

I just bought two on the aisle (toward center court) in the fifth row behind the UMass bench.

We'll have to find a Harvard Square spot for a pre-game for folks from here. Dr.G will be our expert on that.

Just talked to the ticket office. They have the seats and rows backwards and will have to correct.

Harvard senior Siyani Chambers will take voluntary leave of absence this year after suffering torn ACL while working out over the summer.

Improves our chances, but feel for the kid. Great player and drastically weakens their team.
