2015 season - UMass on the rise
Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
Listening now. He's about to come on.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)
Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
Jack Arute was very very nice to us. Said some terrific things.
Coach said pretty much all the right things.

I listen to the replay of Jack's show almost every night during the season while driving home. He's not a basher by any means, and definitely has his favorites in the coaching fraternity. But he's been around a long time, and he's a New England guy, so he gets it.njumass08 wrote:Jack Arute was very very nice to us. Said some terrific things.

I wrote this ... it's gotta be true.

Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
Would this be posted online at some point for those of us who don't have XM and couldn't listen? Thanks.
Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
^ If you had a SiriusXM online account you could listen to the replay anytime. But it won't be anywhere for free.
I can give you a little run down.
It was solid. Jack mentioned the Miss State game next year. Coach said the guys have surprised him so far Spring/Summer with where they are.
Coach said he thinks we should be very competitive in the MAC, but did sound doubtful about the OOC games.
Coach said we still need some years to get where he wants us to be as a program. Talked about the scholarships and that we're closer to 85 now.
He didn't sound thrilled about how difficult next years schedule is. Said "beggars can't be choosers"
He likes Gillette because it helps us schedule and helps with recruits. But sounded like he would eventually like to be back on campus for most of the games.
Jack Arute said some nice things about UMass and New England college football in general at the end.

Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
Thanks much for the recap. Nice to see some positive press for UMass.
I think Whip sees us doing better in the OOC games than we did last season, but he doesn't want to get the guys too high too fast.
I see us at 2-2 in OOC this season, best case we could be 3-1.

I don't think we'll be 3-1, just that it's the absolute best case scenario.
I think we win one/lose one against Colorado & Temple (don't know which games will be what, too close to call), lose to ND, and beat FIU.

^^
That looks like the MAC is considering showing Homecoming on national TV. That shocks me, truly.
Dan Malone tweeted out a graphic that after this set of announcements, UMass only had a chance to get 3 games on actual TV, not just ESPN3. THREE. Eastern Michigan has 5.
This marriage can't end fast enough for either party involved...lol

Are you kidding me? Are you telling me that the 3/4 of games won't even be on ESPN3? I have gotten used to streaming onto the TV, this has to be a joke.
UConn girls are........................... Huskies!!

Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
All the games will be on AT LEAST ESPN3. Sorry if that was confusing. The list Dan Malone has is regarding how many chances a team has of making it on National TV, i.e. ESPN2, ESPNU, CBSSN, and not just broadcast online.Sam Minuteman wrote:Are you kidding me? UMass currently only has 3 chances to make it onto actual television. And it looks like homecoming will be one of those (IMO maybe the only one).
Re: 2015 season - UMass on the rise
All MAC games are on ESPN3, at least according to their contract with ESPN.

I wonder about that. Do you think they will show UMass v. Wagner on TV?rsox1221 wrote:

Raise the bar, do the minimum.
