Tough one...If I had to put money on it, I would go with Gordon. He was good last year and I think he will only continue to improve. His ability to get to the hole is top notch, and I think (hope) we will see improvement this year in his free throw shooting (65%?).

I could see DG putting up 15-17 per game, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if Cady or Trey leads the offense.

One thing I am really interested to see this year is who takes the shot at the end of a tie game or in a clutch situation. The last two years, we all knew who was taking that shot. Someone is going to have to step up and embrace that role this season.

^ do you realize how hard it is to actually average between 15-17 pts in college basketball? Chaz averaged right around 16 and he took a lot of shots and free throws.

Obviously the implication was that it was Chaz.

Without looking back at anything, I feel like most last second plays came down to Chaz the last few years, with the exception of Sampson beating Harvard a couple years ago. But I also feel like Trey Davis hit a few huge shots in the final minutes of games, to keep us in it or keep us more comfortably ahead. Again, I haven't looked anything up, but I go into this season feeling good about Davis' ability to hit key shots.

Trey did lead us to victory in overtime at home against Providence last year, after Chaz had fouled out.

Sure did. I suspect that was the day his testicular nicknames were born.

Is it really that hard? Take a look at NCAA ppg leaders from last season. 135 players averaged OVER 17 ppg in 2013-14. When you consider the style UMass plays, its really not that hard to envision someone averaging 15-17. The only thing that might make it a little difficult is the balance we have within our starting 5.

With the amount Gordon drives to the hole, he is going to get fouled a good amount. If he can start knocking down a respectable amount of his free throws, I can definitely see him in the 15-17 range.

I believe the team has 5 guys that can score 15 or more a game. The question is, does the team have anyone who can do it game in, game out? Running the point may slow down Davis's scoring, so that kind of depends on how much off guard he gets with Hinds at the point. Gordon needs some 3 point shot, and better FT%. Teams will once again figure out how to slow down Cady, so that leaves my man Maxie as designated dunker, 12 foot jumper, baseline flipper, and whatever other tricks he has learned. Should be a fun season.

I'm gonna go with DG for the simple reason that of the starting seven, he's the only one with a scorer's mentality. He's the only one who is looking to score all the time. Trey could be in that category, but as the PG he won't do that. And, please, spare me Maxie's jump shot. It's too flat to go in consistently, IMHO.

I'm going with Cady because he needs to do it. He can do it and he just has to find the drive to do it. I think he will. Plus, I think the Chaz-less offense will work better for him.

I think it'll be DG that leads the team. I think he'll be the one looking to make things happen the most, and if we see improved FT shooting and some sort of outside game from him, he should be in for a big year. After a shaky first half last year, he actually averaged almost 13 pts per game over the final 15 games or so. That right there might be enough to do it.

It's always fun though when you can make a case for so many guys that could realistically lead this team in scoring...DG, Cady, Maxie, Trey....who knows

Like a lot of others, I think Cady because of the high percentage looks he'll get. DG would be my second choice and BBD would be my third.

DG will score more than Chaz? I'll take some of whatever you're smoking. The guy shoots 45 percent from the line.
