Who gets the last #1 seed? Seems no one wants it the way some teams are losing haha. Villanova/Kansas? Louisville/Duke/Virginia/Michigan? If they win their conference tourney? I think it's important as I feel if we're an the 8-9 game it'll be in the east. Right now I'd say the one seeds are:

West-Arizona
South-Florida
Midwest-Wichita State
East-????

Lunardi still has Nova as the 1 in the east. Of all the teams I mentioned up there, I'd prefer Nova.

Here is the breakdown of locks and who is fighting for the last spots based on bubble watch, lunardi, and Palm.

AAC 5 cincy, UL, Memphis, uconn, smu No bubble
A10 5 Umass, SLU, VCU, GW, SJU, bubble Dayton
ACC 5 cuse, duke, unc, UVA, Pitt. Bubble fsu, ncst
B12. 7 isu, KU, ou,Texas, Baylor, osu, ksu no bubble
Big east 2 nova, Creighton. Bubble prov, Xavier
B10 5 wiscy, mich, MSU, Iowa, osu. Bubble Nebraska, Minny
MW 2 SDSU, UNM no bubble
Pac12 6 ucla, zona, Oregon, Stanford, asu, Colorado bubble cal
Sec 2 fla, uk. Bubble tenn, Missouri , ark

Other bubble teams, BYU, southern miss

Based on this there are 39 locks, but 9 of those will get an auto bid. There are 32 auto bids and 36 at large. This means 30 at large are locks and leaves 6 spots for the 13 bubble teams still in the conversation. There are also 5 teams left in conference tournaments that can steal a bid and 3 of those 5 are already bubble teams. Tenn, uga, prov, ncst, and Bonnies.

My guess right now but things could still change based on the remaining tourneys would be tenn and providence get the last 2 byes, Xavier, Dayton, Nebraska, and BYU get to play in round. Fsu, ncst, Minny, cal, mizzou, ark, and southern miss get left out.

I just named 62 out of 68 teams for 91% when you include the 32 auto bids. Shows you how easy it is to get a good percentage.

I think today, we want:

Florida to beat Tenn (1:00) to help our bubble opponents (Dayont, StJ, BYU, Providence, Nebraska) get in
Virginia to beat Pitt (1:00) to help seeding of A10 teams in the 8-11 range
SD State to beat New Mexico (6:00) to help our seeding since we're on the same seed line in a lot of places
Providence to beat Creighton (8:30) to get them in although I'm a little torn because I don't want them to take a bid from an A10 team either. I'll feel better rooting for them if St Joe's wins earlier in the day.
St Joe's to beat Bona (1:30) to help them secure a bid. I think if Bona wins the A10 title, StJ may not get in. No way the A10 gets 7.
Kentucky to beat Georgia (3:25) to avoid anything crazy happening in SEC title game
Duke to beat NC State (3:00) to avoid anything crazy happening in ACC title game

I don't think there are any other relevant games for us today, are there?

Lunardi, Palm, and SI all have us as an 8 seed. And the new USA TODAY has us as a 7. So I'm less confident about a 7 now.

That pompous a-hole Coach K is the next person to talk shit about the Atlantic 10. I'll be posting this in multiple threads.

Coach K argued that ACC bubble teams like the Wolfpack might be a better at-large choice than a team out of the A-10.

I said to [N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried] at the end of the game, “I hope you guys get in.” I don’t understand it. They won at Tennessee. They probably should have beaten Syracuse twice. I think they’ve played a really good schedule, and they’ve got one of the best players in the country…. I’ll get in trouble probably for saying it. Like the Atlantic 10, they’re a really good conference. I hear people saying there are six teams in there. Come on. I mean, they’re good, but put them in our conference and go through the meat grinder that our conference has to go through.

But really… our league should get more respect. The fact that Pitt comes in here and people are saying they have to do something, come on. Come on, man. I don’t get it. The Clemson team we played last night is a heck of a basketball team.

I crunched the numbers unofficially, and A-10 teams headed to NCAAs or on bubble were 7-2 vs. ACC this year: GW 2-0 (Miami, MD); UMass 2-1 (Clemson, BC; FSU); VCU 2-1 (UVa, BC; FSU); Dayton 1-0 (Ga. Tech); St. Joe’s 0-0; St. Louis 0-0.

I try not to take seriously the opinions of a 67-year-old with mysterious jet black hair. He also dumped a 4-15 record on his underpaid assistant coach the year he quit for back injury in '95:

Well I hope we get to see an A-10 team play Duke and knock them out. That would be the ultimate revenge.

It really would.

I would ask that Sign Man create a sign that says: "Chaz will Make Coach K's Hair Turn Grey."

He also magically avoided any penalty for Corey Magette/Myron Piggie.
