Fans of the following teams have more to complain about in terms of ranking than us:

Pitt 9-0
St. Mary's 7-0

Florida should not be ranked.

I'm shocked Pitt is not ranked.

I am also ticked off about the drop in the top 25 rankings. DK needs to wake up and realize he needs to publicize the team more and suck up to the AP writers. It's all part of the job. If he's not up to the task, then he should step aside. I've got a For Sale sign he can use. I'm sure the next coach will buy his house. This team and program is a joke. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Sagarin's ratings are most mature when his elo rating and his rating are roughly synchronous - you don't see huge differences between the two.

It's still early in the season and no mathematical model is going to be very good yet. It's also pretty damn difficult to hand rate the teams. I guarantee that any of us filling out a top 25 would generate lots of complaints from fans of teams we left out.
right... the more data the better.

however his rating (assuming you're referring to "Predictor"?) is not meant to be completely synchronous because it takes into account points, home court, and who knows what else

he used to mention when it was seeded or not (earlier in the season) but i don't see a mention of that any more... the terms "well-connected" and "bayesian" are absent though, so I'd assume it's not seeded any more

Time to relax...... It's only Dec 10. Lets review for a minute...Good to be a Minuteman.

8-0 , #1 in the RPI, ranked in both polls, sellout crowds.
What else? Red Sox win the series, Pats in first place. Played golf in 82 degree sunshine yesterday.

Enjoy the ride to hell with those writers.

Hey gentlemen , a hand /arm injury has limited my typing for a while but I read everything and haven't missed a moment of action this season. I will miss my first home game in a couple years with my oldest daughters 10th birthday this weekend. I know she has really enjoyed UMass basketball for a couple years now but I think that her starting to play basketball and this weekend's mass mutual center experience , she is falling in love. .. with the same thing I love...proud dad. About the same age I was , I was actually a year older the 93/94 season was a love affair for me. I think I'm going to read "Going Big-time" GO UMASS

...and you're not taking her to the game Saturday for her 10th birthday and getting her name on the jumbotron because why?

Games are second nature to her and nothing will top Saturday. Also rock climbing birthday parties are pretty awesome.

No, I meant the rating (which is not the same as the predictor - it is made using the three other metrics) and which is what Sagarin uses to rank order the teams.
