Great story. Go get that 15th spot Mr. Lasme you have all of UMass nation and many others pulling for you. It's an honorable thing to put family first.

I don't think I could root any harder for this guy to make it.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of watching UMASS hoops over the last few years was witnessing the development of Stephane over his four year career. This would be icing on the cake to see him make it at the highest level. Go Stephane!!

Doc's now on record saying that Stephane's got a "great shot" at making the team this year.
That dunk was impressive, and even better, timely.

I love how when Lasme goes to the bench in that video, Garnett is all fired up and Shaq gives him props.

Notice how small Stephane seems next to KG?

I watched last night because we knew ahead that the regulars would not dress. Stephane got serious minutes and played well. Tommy praised him several times, saying that not only can he do the advertised stuff - D and passing and running and blocks - but he can score. Said he is hitting the mid-range jumper in practice.
If he can't make this veteran roster, there certainly is a place for him somewhere in the league.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Heinsohn tried to be political about it, but he made it clear who he thinks should get the last spot. He loves Stephane....and isn't a big Wafer fan.

Absolutely. I thought both announcers were holding back praise. Stephane has done everything he could to try and make this team. He had a great back to back play before the half where he made a sweet crossover left layup and got back to get a block at the other end. How can you not want someone like that on your team?
