Awful.
It's one thing to follow your coach to his new team when he is fired (such as Robert Vaden to UAB), but I hope Lowe doesnt follow Ford to OSU after Ford flat out lies to the team and athletic department and jumps ship. I'm HOPING this is just CLowe speaking out of frustration and that he's staying at UMass, and as a fan who has never enjoyed watching a player play as much as Chris Lowe I definitely hope he stays.

It's his Sr. year he's not going anywhere, Harris is the one to be concerned about.

Relax Rocks I don't think this information is anything far-fetched at this point. InnerVisions isn't exactly going out on a limb.

He had quoted throwdown, not me.

Joke? CLowe will be one of the best 5 or 10 point guards in the country next year.

The UMass media relations department confirmed that a gathering is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central time where the athletic director and players will discuss the future of the program

I don't know if a Sr. is going to be willing to sit out a year just to play one more year at another school. Most Sr's that transfer drop down a level no matter how good, because they can play right away. I didn't mean he wasn't good enough to transfer DI, but that rarely rarely every happens.

It would really be a shame if Chris Lowe goes through with transferring although I'm guessing once he weighs his options he stays because of the obvious reasons some folks have stated here. He is by default the leader/captain/whatever you want to call it of this team now. If he is approached right away by the dept. that they are committed to continuing to win now and getting a quality coach, I would think CLowes commitment to the program could inspire others to do the same. This could be a bit far fetched but I think its a possibility.

either he really wants to play for TF, or it's more out of frustration and not wanting to finish here.

Oh well...thank (found it) Boone Pickens who gave OSU 165 million to the AD. With that they can easily toss around money and get anyone.

Makes me wonder what they offered Self  I think he stayed though to keep up with the current success...ultimately unless things change he wants to make it in the NBA...

At this point McCutcheon needs to meet with the team and reassure them that he will find a coach who is a perfect fit for what we have at UMass. Obviously the players are devistated (esp., Lowe, who said TF is like a father to him), but you need to take what they are saying right now with a grain of salt. There's a lot of emotions going on right now, and the players will need some time to get their heads straight
Agreed. C Lowe must be devastated right now which is understandable. But when this sinks in I wonder if he will really want to sit out a year before he enters his senior year. I wonder when he find out if Gibbs is still coming here, that will be essential if we do lose Lowe.

I don't think CLowe would leave before his senior year, but on campus today I heard from someone who had heard similar things from Lowe about "having some serious thinking to do." However I am not jumping on anything until I hear it from the horses mouth.
