Minutemen Add Forward
By: Dave Telep
Date: April 17th, 2003
Lawrence Carrier is headed to the Atlantic 10. The Salisbury School forward made his decision on Thursday.
Minutemen Will Sit Him Out
Lawrence Carrier averaged over 20 points a game this past season for Chris Hinchey's team. Next year, he'll be in Amherst.
The 6-8 power forward committed to play for the Massachusetts Minutemen but will sit out the 2003-04 season. Carrier is unlikely to meet freshman academic requirements so he'll take what'll amount to a redshirt basketball season as he prepares his academics.
Carrier played a lot of small forward for Salisbury this season. Carrier heard from Boston U., Fordham, Washington, Miami and Penn State at various points in the recruiting process.

Two years ago Lawrence Carrier was considered by many to be one of the nation’s Top 50 high school prospects. Academic concerns and injuries caused many to write him off. Now, after completing his stint at Connecticut’s Salisbury School, the 6-8 225 lbs. power forward has committed to Steve Lappas’ Massachusetts program.
A native of California, Carrier averaged 20.3 points and 9.3 rebounds a game this past season. He will not be eligible this upcoming season, and will instead sit out as an academic red-shirt. Other schools that showed interest this year in Lawrence included Arizona State, Colorado, Penn State, and Miami (FL).
Carrier plays more like a wing forward, having the ability to take his man off the dribble and score, or knock down the three-point shot. He also possesses excellent ball handling skills.
Carrier joins 6-4 guard Art Bowers and 6-6 forward Maurice Maxwell to make up UMass’ current recruiting class.

I refuse to ever engage with bruluaghs again.
My last few posts on the Masslive board were deleted when all I was doing is simply pointing out the fact that he's a douchebag that will spend the whole day on the board by himself replying to his own posts and starting several posts in a row that do nothing but say the same thing. If you go through the history he'll start 7 consecutive topics to which no one will reply except himself.
He can stay over there and call the coach "ratface" to the three other people who haven't abandoned the board yet and only reply to tell him to get a life.
