Just another day of UMass fandom. Was really impressed how they came out dominant, that was some of the best ball of the year. Buffalo woke up and things went downhill. Pleasantly surprised they gutted it out after going down by 6 late, plus the phantom foul on the 3 pointer.

Important game for UMass to show they are a top echelon MAC team, and the kind of game UMass needs to get used to winning if the MAC move is going to be a success in the coming years. Between holidays @ Eastern Michigan feels like a slog, which is what I assume MAC road basketball usually is.

Wake up call. Kent State is a solid team, certainly would be a top half A10 team in my opinion. UMass made a ton of mistakes, but too many missed shots was the biggest issue. They are completely outmatched, but showing toughness and not beating themselves. If they can keep that up through the 2nd half it’ll be the best performance of the year.
