Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond

I think Gicewicz will be really nice add. Does anyone know if Ryan Sullivan is coming this year? On Bamford's show, Carvel mentioned 3 forwards and 2 defensemen definitely coming this year. Lopina and MacDonald should be 2 of the forwards (and 2 good ones at that), but then that leaves Ryan ...

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

Two more days!!! Too bad MDG won't be playing, but it doesn't sound serious at all, more precautionary, and they should be able to get by without him against a team like RPI (hopefully). Go UMass!

They said he would be playing if this was a meaningful game.

I know, hence why I referred to ...

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

Hockey East coaches voted unanimously to have all 11 teams qualify for the playoffs beginning next season. AD’s still have to approve. I think this is a bad move.

Agree. Hate it as well. Love having there be something on the line for the games towards the end of the regular season (and really ...

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

The news we all didn't want to hear - Ferraro is leaving. Signed with the Sharks today. Just announced by the school. Personally feel he could've used another year of NCAA hockey, but don't blame him for leaving. Big blow to our blue line for next year though. I wish him the best of luck!

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

Another guy I think could have a big bounce back year is Chau. His numbers this year were a step down from his freshman year, but he had some health issues early on and was bounced back and forth between the first and third lines a lot this year. I think if he takes his permanent spot back next to ...

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

Great write-up, Carson.

Wanted to add that for defense, there is also Ryan Bliss, who joined the team mid-year from Cornell, but did not play (due to injury, I believe). I think he has one year of eligibility left, but I could be incorrect.

Thanks! And yes of course, forgot about Bliss ...

Re: Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

College Hockey News shows us with 12 guys coming in next year. I don't see any way that happens. Adding Kaiser, who missed most of the season, that makes 13. I am confused about Fontaine, isn't he already committed to RPI? We essentially have 5 spots to fill with Makar and Chukarov leaving on D ...

Looking Ahead to the 2019-2020 Season

Unreal run by the guys this year. With this amazing season now in the books, one thing we can do to pass the seemingly endless time that is the offseason is talk about how the team will shake out for next year. Cale is obviously gone, along with Boeing, Keats, and Pritchard, but I think (and hope ...

Re: vs. Maine

Best thing about this game was that a lot of the scoring came from non-traditional sources. This year's team has been a little bit top-heavy when it comes to scoring, relying on Leonard/Pritchard/Chaffee for most of the goals (at least as far as forwards go - obviously Makar and MDG have been huge ...

Re: 2018-2019 Season

Something just feels different about this team compared to last year. Seem to be playing with a confidence that just wasn't quite there last year. They knew they were expected to sweep RPI and just took care of business. Refreshing stuff after years of some disappointing and embarrassing losses ...

Redshirting isn’t really a thing in hockey, except for serious injury cases.

Yea there is a serious logjam on D now. Have to think there's going to be a departure or two.

Re: 2018-2019 Season

Looks like Hildenbrand, Makar and Ferraro named captains for next year.
