I think both Olson and Lytle are FBS qbs.. we have 2 solid rbs and the oline is young but has improved.. Wr's and TE's are a little weak.. the offense has seemed to improve minus the shitshow this week. The D may have some talent but we would never know because they are put into a position to fail on every play. Bell adjusted his offensive scheme to better fit what we have and it has worked better than it had in the past but until he gets rid of the DC those failures are on him and outweigh any little improvement the offense has made.

Toledo opening line is -26. I’ll start taking bets from anyone on the board, but really looking to take some action from the people who thought the MACTION games were winnable.

Hard to believe that Georgia Southern fired their coach today after a 1 - 3 start.

Wow, they fired their last coach after UMass beat them. Lundsford gets fired with a 28 -21 career record and Bell is still employed at 1 - 19...

I'm a softie at heart. Hated firing an employee. Hated it each of the 2 times necessary. I don't want to fire Bell. Just promote him to spectator. Now.

After the FSU game, leave Bell in Tallahassee and use some of the $1.5 mil from the game check to pay him off!

These are pretty much my thoughts on the roster. I think there could be more talent on D than we realize, but they are a terrible unit right now which I’d mostly blame on coaching. They also don’t have much college game experience compared to Coastal Carolina.

Bell looks overmatched for the situation, but I don’t know what coaches are out there that UMass could get who would be rolling out a winner right now 2 years from the 2019 worst FBS roster of all time. But they shouldn’t look this bad, and that’s on Bell and Bamford and whoever else let the program get to this point. They need to beat our fellow state schools the rest of the way.

If he loses to UConn, then gets blasted at FSU, LIberty, and the final nail in the coffin is a URI loss, then put him on a bus to Tallahassee or back to Tennessee. 1 win saves his job but it can't be just beating UMaine. 8 games left we have to win 2 or 3 of them.

There is a great article in The Athletic on Villanova and last week's game prep for the Penn State game. It discusses all the game planning/technology that goes into scouting each play and player on the other team. Now that teams have video on UMass and Brady Olson, it is so easy for them to defended the weak UMass offense game plan (what, about five plays and a couple of different formations). The defense is even easier to game plan against. This UMass staff doesn't have the brains or experience to compete at the FBS, or really the FCS level.

There are a lot of head coaches out there that would jump at the chance to make $700k and run their own FBS program. DON"T let Bamford make the hire by himself ever again!!! Show up at the interview in a skinny suit and brown shoes and Bamford will hire you on the spot! :x

Hear what you're saying but pretty sad when winning 1 game is enough to keep your job. I think a minimum 3 games or we need to consider making a change.

At least Lane Kiffin was fired on the tarmac at LAX. I like this idea even better, leave him in another state.

Dennis how about this, Bamford does not get to hire a 2nd football coach or 2nd basketball coach because he is gone...

As I have written before, Bamford has done good things in the AD but is still an IVY/NESCAC level AD. I would be more then happy to see him, Bell and McCall go away from UMass, the sooner the better. Really, the best choice for a new AD is Carvel, but it would be a pay cut and too much BS for him--I would think.
