Just my uneducated opinion, but I think the 1st Q is key. If we can get through it without any major blunders (fumbles, interceptions, special team errors or missed assignments on a deep pass) we should be Ok and make the game competitive. So many new players on both teams it's really hard to predict a score. But I do like what I've seen from the coaching staff.

Mistakes will be down from what we are used too.. I know it's basic, but it will be how well do we run the ball and how well do we stop the run..

My expectations are that UMass looks like UMass for the most part. Some good drives, some not. Some good stops, some not. What will separate this team from past years is if they can clean up end of half situations. It seems like they've had a habit of getting some momentum and then letting the other team get a quick score at the half, or missing a FG in a crucial late game spot.

If they play up to the normal standard during the flow of the game and then clean up the situational stuff, I'll be pretty happy. I'm hoping that the addition of the special teams coach helps.

I think they get a boost from the opening day crowd, the new QB looks good, and they improve in those areas I mentioned and come away with a win. I'll say UMass wins 20-17

I believe that they were talking about the cars moving the students into the dorms….they would be moving in and out…which I understand was not a smooth operation!

I really don’t want to jinx it but that was the best blocking I’ve ever seen at UMass

If that first drive is an example of what we’re going to see this year, I’m ready

First drive had a couple of mistakes (a couple of near interceptions), but they overcame them! TD to start the season. It was a good looking drive with a nice run game and good blocking.

Loved the run…the quickness to get free and great balance to fight off the tackle and get in.

Decent movement on the second drive but stalled out. Kicked a nice looking 40 yarder.

Then forced a punt out of Temple. Not a bad first quarter right there. 10-7 lead and starting the second with the ball.

Had a nice drive going - that fumble from Rose was brutal. Changed the momentum real quick and Temple with the quick score to go up 14-10.

Never easy being a UMass fan

After not being able to score to allowing a 55 yard rush from their 1

Jeez
