Sam Provo

Post by tom mclaughlin » Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:08 pm

Some sad news Sam Provo passed away on Monday after a few difficult years health wise. Sam was a warrior both on and off the court. He played in the late 60’s and was a teammate of Dr J. Always friendly and a great teammate. May Sam RIP along with Ray Ellerbrook, Ken Mathias, John Murphy, Tom Austin, Peter Trow and coaches Jack
Leaman and Ray Wilson.

From what I heard, he was a Legend at Agawam High where he averaged about 30 per game!

Tom, thank you for sharing. Condolences about your teammate and friend.

I see he was the same class as Julius. Being his teammate for 3 seasons must have been something.

If you don't mind my asking, was Sam not on the team as a senior? The roster I've seen from the time doesn't list him.
