2025 Season

Post by Steve81 » Wed Mar 05, 2025 9:37 am

Schedule is due to be released today, so time to start the thread.

The U Script program takes shape and more info next week.

Did notice a change with the benefits. While some levels have gone up, it's nice that the benefits are across sports, specifically Football, Hockey, and Basketball.

Here’s the schedule:

Sat. Aug. 30 – Temple
Sat. Sept. 6 – Bryant
Sat. Sept. 13 – at Iowa
Sat. Sept. 27 – at Missouri
Sat. Oct. 4 – *Western Michigan
Sat. Oct. 11 – *at Kent State
Sat. Oct. 18 – *Buffalo
Sat. Oct. 25– *at Central Michigan
Tues. Nov. 4 – *at Akron
Wed. Nov. 12 – *Northern Illinois
Tues. Nov. 18 – *at Ohio
Tues. Nov. 25 – *Bowling Green

I’m pumped for those weekday games - my wife is gonna be pissed when she finds out Tuesdays and Wednesdays are now football days as well

I’m concerned about the “premium seating option.” I have what I think are some of the best seats for hockey. I’ve had them for a long time. Am I gonna have to pay $2500/year extra for them now?

Edited to add: I reached out to the University about this. My understanding now is that I will NOT have to pay an extra $2500/year to keep my seats, which is good.

My current understanding (check with UMass to confirm) is that $1000+season hockey tickets= access to the commonwealth club. Same formula for court club or whatever they call it for basketball. If you don’t have season tickets, you don’t get access even if you donate $1000. $2500 gets you access to those clubs even without season tickets.

I asked no follow up questions. I’m very relieved I can keep my seat though! Sorry to cause alarm over nothing.

UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Leave the A-10!

Those mid-weeks are going to take some getting used to, but at least it doesn't start 'til November.

Don't like the Nov 25th game with Thanksgiving, but glad we are playing Ohio, thou an a away MACtion Game.

Will take a stab at the w-l by team but it's just guess work as have not seen a practice or a game with the new coaching staff and the 30 or more new players.

Sat. Aug. 30 – Temple Win, but a lot is on hope as both will have new coach's; theirs's a Delaware QB.
Sat. Sept. 6 – Bryant Win
Sat. Sept. 13 – at Iowa Loss but very close
Sat. Sept. 27 – at Missouri Loss
Sat. Oct. 4 – *Western Michigan Loss
Sat. Oct. 11 – *at Kent State Win
Sat. Oct. 18 – *Buffalo Loss
Sat. Oct. 25– *at Central Michigan Win
Tues. Nov. 4 – *at Akron Win
Wed. Nov. 12 – *Northern Illinois Win, very close
Tues. Nov. 18 – *at Ohio Loss
Tues. Nov. 25 – *Bowling Green Loss

Bolded are wins, but with recruiting not done, expect 5 wins. CMU is a tough road Game. NIU should be tough, and just want to beat Temple.

They take us lightly and we fight like hell with more depth and beef up front.

We don't even have Spring Practice intel yet and the prediction is 6 wins? Pass the pipe.

Yes. Smoking is very bad for the lungs, perhaps consider edibles.

We'll know a lot more after the Temple game. Hoping for the best.

Yes, but as of March 5th 2025, you're going to legitimately sit there and pick 6 wins? 6 wins... the combination of wins over the last 3 seasons? 6 wins... more than any in a given season since Kevin Morris was here? 6 WINS?!?!

I don't follow closely, but we have an OL that can match up with a Big Ten squad? That'd be nice, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Iowa was 11th-best in FBS this past season in defense (on a points allowed per game metric) at 17.8. Pair that with our often meh offense and I don't see how this one's going to be "very close." Maybe not a blowout, but I don't see us keeping the final within 10.

Are you heavily invested in LLBean or other cold weather gear vendors . It’s cold on the Hadley/Anherst line in November; coldest at night!

I know the MAC history with the week night games , but having to get up at 5:30 am and traveling almost 1.5 hours, might be enough to move off season tickets , and just buy tickets for the Saturday games. Don’t think that McGuirk will sell out !!

I would hope that people in your situation be allowed
to renew your seats without the extra money needed; but the extra charge would be required for new season tickets in the same area (if that is the area they are targeting)

Well, tail gating should get you prepared. Layers work fine, but make sure you have some wool socks. There are a lot of hand warmer and other warming things that hunters use on occasions. Of course you can pay up 2.5k and go in the heated Hunt Hospitality suite.
