Won't matter unless they replace the AD

I thought he should've retired at 65.ZooMass84 wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:15 am Who thinks Don Brown should retire after the UConn game? He's 69 and maybe it's time or should we keep him and just be a joke year in year out.

I go back and forth on Bamford…. Is it his fault or is it the administration in totality?

He has increased spending and investment in the programs and also failed at hiring multiple times.eldonabe wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:28 amI go back and forth on Bamford…. Is it his fault or is it the administration in totality?

Ultimately I agree with you but he definitely had one hand tied behind his back many times as well.minutefanjsf wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:34 amHe has increased spending and investment in the programs and also failed at hiring multiple times.eldonabe wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:28 amI go back and forth on Bamford…. A house cleaning is in order, but it is not going to matter (for football) without the new plan including a commitment to building an actual football/multi-purpose stadium.
Re: Don Brown
You're absolutely right about McGuirk. Recruiting great athletes and encouraging more people to attend the games, both of which will improve the team's success, begins with a significant stadium upgrade. Even though the game is close to being sold out, I think it'll be an embarrassment for the team and the university when Missouri and their fans come in October.eldonabe wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:42 amUltimately I agree with you but he definitely had one hand tied behind his back many times as well.minutefanjsf wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:34 amHe has increased spending and investment in the programs and also failed at hiring multiple times.eldonabe wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:28 am

He's pushing 70 and it shows. He looks tired and can't believe he makes 800k or something.photoman wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:29 am They don't make it easy to find this stuff, but here's the post game statements:

Re: Don Brown
I think back when Derek Kellogg was first hired and there was an assistant coach hired. The assistants scheme did not work and DK was told to replace him. Believe this is necessary at a few position. Keep Don Brown, he took on a bad situation and not getting paid for all the sh-t that is happening.
Cal's 1yr, the crowd is Booing. He stands up, turns to the crowd and says "Cheer for us!"
Re: Don Brown
I just don't know. I look jealously at BC getting Billy O'Brien. Perfect hire.

On a human level you can’t help but feel for the guy.
Here’s hoping the guys rally and win big next week.

I wouldn't want some new coach going into the next two winnable games, I want Don Brown!

Re: Don Brown
my opinion, there's no chance that they fire Don Brown. There's too much mutual respect between the administration, Don, and the fan base. They'll reach an agreement and he'll announce his "retirement" at some point late in the season.
