"WTF?" I think it is kind of odd an AD would say that to a reporter, even if it was to be relayed anonymously.

Regarding MACtion, see the first week with one game on ESPN, two games on ESPN2 and one game on ESPNU. There are some negatives being mid week in November, but the positives are exposure and $$$$.

Be proud of the present and look to the future.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting

Midweek Maction games have kind of lost there exclusivity. There are games every night of the week now so I don't think it's the wild phenomena it used to be. With that said, gambling alone brings the eyes to the games so it will also have a solid viewership.

Back in the 00s, midweek MACtion was a real thing. This was before NFL Thursday Night football. You'd always have a couple MAC games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and generally a big conference college football matchup on ESPN on Thursday night. Greedy NFL took that away from us, owning all day Sunday and Monday night wasn't enough for them. Also college football wasn't playing a whole lot of prime time games outside those slots and the lone game of the week on Saturday night ABC (I miss that, it felt like the entire country was watching that one matchup). 95% of college games were played on Saturday between noon and 7 pm ET (not withstanding the later west coast games). Now it feels like there are at least 10 games on at the same time (8 pm ET) on Sat nights.

The best thing the NFL did was move TNF to streaming. It finally gave me a reason to not give a shit about TNF, outside of when the Pats play.
